Alison’s POV When I entered my apartment, I went straight to the kitchen. The staff had left for the day. I put my Opera Cake on the kitchen table before I put my coffee to brew. Uncle Kane often brought me one, whenever he visited dad. I sat in the living room to enjoy my dessert and contacted my Trust fund manager, Jack. “Did you cancel everything as I told you?” I asked. “I did. I was facing some issues with some of the documents, and I hadn’t gotten the chance to start with the process, so when you call to cancel it was no big deal. Your ex will never see a cent from you.” I thanked him as I glanced at a pile of papers across from me. The asset-sharing documents were stacked on the coffee table.
