I stop, lost for words. I’ve been running for so long… and I finally let myself believe I might be safe.
“We can’t lose you,” Haru whispers.
“Haru?” RT’s voice softens over the line.
I hear the affection in his tone. I’ve always known he cared for her, but we all knew we weren’t exactly relationship material.

We hang up and sit in silence, trying to process everything.
