Now, with her shift finally over, Cordelia tugged her coat tighter around her and hurried toward the hospital’s main exit. She wanted nothing more than to collapse on her bed and try to find some way to clear her thoughts. Except the lobby wasn’t its usual quiet, hushed space. A strange buzz filled the air.
