Aunt D pov “I don’t want you to be seen around here. You will create suspicion when you are seen here, you need to lay low”. I said to her in the garden. I wouldn’t have an alliance with her if I had a better option. Tina pov My eye lids twitches from the beaming rays as it lands on me, forcing me to open my eyes. I rub my eyes while stretching myself and release a long stretch sigh. It is quarter past 4 in the evening. Sitting on the edge of the bed, I feel a hot flush of blood in my cheeks as I remember the first kiss Paul and I shared. He smelled like the spices in his kitchen when I pulled him in for a kiss. I was wasted that night and didn’t know why I did that. I do feel sometimes within me that there’s a certain piece of information I need to remember. As I stand up to take my steps, I hear glass shattering causing instant headache and dizziness so I move close to my bed and lie on it. A tingling sound stays in my ear for as long as I can remember. My heart starts to feel heavy as if someone dear to me is going to be hurt. “Tina..Tina” … I see flashes of blood and hear multiple gunshots, though the scenes are blurred, I notice they are in two different places. My heart starts to race fast when I see it. I see dad lying lifeless, hot tears run down my cheeks without seize and I hear the gunshots.. My eyes widen and my hands go straight to my ears, he takes a step backward, losing his balance, and he falls to his knees while looking at me before hitting the ground. Blood splashes on my coat and blood on the tables, different screams and sounds of tables rumbling from people trying to escape from the coffee…everywhere goes black. Within 24 hours, I had witnessed two murders and seen two bodies for the first time in my life. I understand why I couldn't remember anything. Who was he? What information about Dad does he have? Was he the one Amira was trying to protect me from? I finally get my balance and slide my feet into my flip flops, considering every thought and question with every step. The combination of colors and details on the walls no longer feels the same. I pass and take a deep breath before pushing the door open, an empty bed welcomed my eyes so I closed it back and headed towards the study room. “I will cry to the cops and tell them my dad has not been home since my sister’s birthday. She came to the study room and the next thing I hear is gun shots. When I tried questioning her about dad she got angry and faked a memory loss” …..”Isn’t that convincing enough, Aunt D?”. Her back facing the door, Aunt D moves to her and strokes her hair- “Of course it is, I almost believed you. When she's gone, I will teach you everything about the busi….” . My hand to my mouth, I step back and hit the maid with glasses behind me, both startled; the tray falls down, causing them to break as they hit the floor. My flip flops start an increasing pace with every step. I flung my door open, picked up a coat, and grabbed my car keys with the stranger’s card. I drive through the garden and the gate with water threatening to fall from my eyes and my stomach tightens after every thought of the moments my sister and I shared. How could she? I knew Aunt D took a liking to her, but I didn’t know she could plant such thoughts in her mind. I make a stop at the first bar at the outskirts of Washington. I get pulled back to the car when I try to move. s**t! My coat is stuck in the car door. I readjust myself and squint my eyes to make them less blurry. “Whatchu doing here sweetheart?”. I roll my eyes and sit opposite the bar attendant in the bar. A young lady, probably the same age as me with grey eyes and a well-curved nose in a strapped beige jumpsuit sits right next to me sipping her cocktail. “Another “, I say as I gulp down the gin. It burns and it tastes weird. I’ve never had it in this quantity before. “Another “… “Another”… “Another”… “ slow down sweetheart, whatever you are going through isn’t worth the hangover you’ll get tomorrow” I hear her say. I look for my purse to pay for my shots and realize I didn’t pick it up. I stand up trying to search for some money in my coat when she offers to pay. I give her a nod and try to leave but almost fall on her. “Can you drive back home? I can take you home if you are drunk ?” … “I’m fine “, I snap at her. I bang the door closed in my car, and hit the wheel while letting it all out from my mouth, looked at the stranger’s card one last time before driving. I will wait for the stranger at the place I met him the other time. I should have known they were up to no good when they slipped into the office more often and had silent conversations when I was around. Those whispers and the same time absences were loud but I ignored them. I notice a long vehicle keeps flashing in my direction, maybe to tell me to slow down. My car and his truck get closer and I step on the brakes, Faith pov These investors are really getting a toll on me, why can’t they just sign the damn deal? I’m beginning to think the man’s son is deliberately avoiding the agreement because I called him out on his drinking behavior and disrespect to the law firm. Gosh. I received a message from my cousin, who keeps blowing up my phone about this young lady who awakened his wolf. I don’t think it’s true but I’m not the one to burst his bubbles. I giggled when he told me she smelled like vanilla. This young lady enters the bar rolling her eyes at one of the men and goes straight to sit. She signals for a shot and gulps down 2 in a row, her blue eyes look more puffy from the messy ponytail. “Slow down sweetheart, whatever it is you are going through isn’t worth the hangover you’ll get tomorrow “ I said loudly but she did not acknowledge me. She takes two more and searches herself while standing up as if looking for money. She nods when I offer to pay. She almost trips on me when she took her first step. I slip my card into her coat’s pocket and offer to take her home but she snaps at me. That’s what I get for being good tonight. She has this lingering smell of vanilla around her. “You look pale.. what are you doing here this late?” , my cousin asks. “Today isn’t just a good day and a young lady made it worse”. I replied making myself at home. I recount what happened at the office and how I met a young lady who seemed to have a worse day than mine, and we laughed. He said my descriptions were similar to someone he knew and showed me a picture of a lady with ocean blue siren eyes and straightened black long hair. She looked innocent and welcoming. How can someone this good-looking look burdened this night? Our eyes lit when we realized she was the same person , I admitted I smelled her vanilla scent when I was close to her, and I also suspect she might be a wolf. I get a call from a hospital saying someone is admitted at the emergency ward and they will need urgent consent from her guidance before proceeding with any procedures. And they are calling me because they found my card in her coat. That’s when it occurred to me that , it was the young lady I met. Paul’s lady interest. Tina. “What’s wrong?” Paul asks ………
