Six – BE CLUMSY WITH ME ALONE The door creaked open after a brief knock. Alpha Steven lazily raised his hard gaze as the door slowly opened, with Debra walking in. Her silver hair flowed down her shoulders, her lips painted red, her body perfectly hugged by a silk yellow gown that stopped just above her knees. “Here, Your King,” she quietly said, gently dropping the book she held on the table while absolutely avoiding the gaze of Alpha Steven. Nervousness laced through her. She could feel his gaze, which felt so awkward on her. Briskly, in the process of turning to leave quickly, Debra missed a step, her side hip hitting the table and almost making her fall. In a blink, she felt a strong arm wrapped tightly around her waist. Her breath hitched as she opened her eyes to find her body pressed against the Alpha King's. “I'm so sorry, Your Grace. I'm so clumsy!” she blurted, her breathing heavy as she tried to break free from his grip. But the more she tried, the more Alpha King pulled her in. Their faces almost collided as they breathed in each other's scent. Their lips were half an inch apart. “I don't mind you being clumsy. Just be clumsy with me alone,” Alpha Steven breathed out, his lips gently brushing against Debra's, who immediately turned her face to the left. ‘Why is my chest beating so fast?’ Debra pounded in her thoughts. Debra raised her gaze, staring into his greenish violet eyes. Her lips blushed red as sensational thoughts piled up. Instantly, she looked away. She had never thought this way. Why was she feeling strange with the man who had barely refrained from killing her? And if that wasn't enough, he had made her a king's shadow. She was lurking in a hole doom of power struggle. ‘What is this feeling?’ the Alpha King asked himself. “I will be on my way. Beta Brandon only asked me to bring the book for your signature,” Debra announced, stylishly breaking free from his grip. But Alpha Steven caught her tricky demeanor, holding her firmly, his gaze boring into her face. “About what happened the other day at the festival, I wish…” “It's fine, Your Grace. I'm perfectly fine now,” Debra said curtly. “I'm just a mere king's shadow,” Debra added, her voice heavy. “Mere?” Alpha Steven asked, with a raised brow, pulling Debra in. His eyes locked on hers, with unquenchable fire swelling in their eyes. Tiny beads of sweat lay across Debra's forehead. “You are mine, not mere,” he warned. “No one has the right to address you as such,” he added, his face contorted with seriousness. “Alright, Your…” Debra's words hung in her throat as Alpha Steven's fingers traced every corner of her lips, sending electrifying feelings that surged through emotions she couldn't identify. “Your lips look so soft,” he muttered, his breath heavy. “I wonder what it will feel like to have them on mine.” His face drew an inch closer to hers. Debra found herself not pulling away this time. The emotions that piled up in her body had won over her as she closed her eyes, waiting to seal her lips with his. Briskly, the door creaked open. “Oh my goodness!” Beta Brandon exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock as he instantly looked away, his hands covering his eyes. “I'm so sorry, Your Grace,” Beta Brandon apologized, his gaze fixed on the floor. AT MADISON'S ROOM If you want to see Madison, all you have to do is look for Debra. Madison being the all goofy goody typical girl. The naive Debra never got suspicious of her behaviour, nor noticed her fake character. To her she believed people could change in a drastic time, just like a part of her was still wishing her mother could change her mind and come for her. Deep in the king's residence, at Madison room, her face swelled with rage, pacing her room, as she suddenly slumped on the bed. “Ahhhhhh!!!!” She screamed. “I can't get close to him because of that witch that he keeps around!” she clenched her fist. “My skin crawls whenever I'm with her, damn it! How long do I have to keep up with this,” She yelled at the top of her voice, smashing the tea cup she held on her hand against the wall, shattering to tiny pieces on the floor. “It's always Debra! Debra! Debra! Kings Shadow this! Kings Shadow that! Ahhhhhh!” She yelled out aloud, her voice could have pulled down the room if the walls weren't strong enough, her hands running through her hair in frustration. “What's so special about her?” She blurted out angrily. “I need to think of a way fast, just some way for me to get closer to him,” Madison sputtered to herself, gnashing her teeth on her finger nails, as anxiety curled up inside of her. “Think Madison! You are smarter than this!” She cooed herself softly, tapping her head with her palm. Madison paced her room, her face knitted with a deep frown, her eyes glared at a daze. She was the type ‘ If I want him, then I will make him mine forever.’ A smirk instantly swelled up across her face, as the most brilliant thoughts brushed through her mind, her eyes shifted to her crystal white wolf eyes, as her hair dazzled in the air, with dark smoke surrounding around her, slowly taking a closer step to the mirror. “Ohhhh my little Kings Shadow! Are you sure you can take this,” She grinned in enthusiasm, as dark vein-like lines creeped around her cheeks and hands.
