Car Glass whined down, and it was Marcus. “Marcus it's you again”, were you sent to follow me by your brother? She asked. No, no one sent me to follow you, I was less busy so I decided to come back to this place, I knew you would still be here, he said looking calm. Are you sure? Or you're just here to entice me with flashy cars, first, it was a black car now it is a blue car, interesting she said. No no, how can I entice someone who will soon own numerous cars, no I can't do that, he said laughing. Do you think that is what I am doing? Marcus asked. I can’t tell, Prevail replied. Let's go before my grandma comes out and sees the both of us, she was curious she wanted to meet with my husband-to-be, she said. Maybe I will fit in that role, Marcus said smiling. Really? You want to represent your brother, Prevail chuckles. You are so funny, so different from your brother, she said. Okay let's go for real now, I am already late and I will be going to the hospital to see my brother, she said. Okay, let's go, Marcus starts the car and drives. Let me drop you at the hospital, will that be fine? Marcus asked. Yes yes, that's fine I was supposed to meet a friend before going to the Hospital, but it’s fine, I will call her when I get to the hospital, she said. Marcus dropped her at the hospital. Goodbye Marcus, Prevail said. Take care of yourself, Marcus replied and drove away. Mum, you won't believe who took me to grandma's place and brought me to the hospital, Prevail said happily. Who is it? Mrs. Glady asked thinking who that might be. It's Austin's brother, Mum I thought the whole Greenwood family has the same character as Austin, but I was wrong. Marcus was entirely different from Austin. Well behaved, knows how to speak to someone politely, Prevail said with a lot of smiles on her face. Hmm, it looks like you're connecting well with your new family, I've never seen you this happy talking about anything related to Austin, she said. Mum, it's just that there is something about Marcus, Prevail said. Anyway, your marriage is in two days, try to be in your best character, she said. I will Mum, Prevail replies. Have you heard from Cynthia? Mrs. Glady asked. No mum, I was about to go to her side when Marcus suggested he drop me at the hospital, I will call her anyway, Prevail reply. Ok, do that now, Mrs. Glady said. Prevail picks up her phone and calls Cynthia. Hello Cynthia, how are you, how are you doing? I’m good, how are your mum and your brother, she asked. Mum is fine and Paul is getting better. Prevail reply. Are you back from your cousin's place? She asked. No. I’m having a good time here, Cynthia replied. You’re having a good time? Hmm alright that’s good, take care, she said sounding curious. And don’t forget I need your assistance, next tomorrow is my wedding, I need you, Cynthia, she said. I will be with you tomorrow, she said. Okay, Prevail said. Immediately Prevail hung up the phone, and Austin walked in. Hey, Prevail. Hey Austin. You look good and nice, he said. You too, Prevail reply. How is your brother? He’s responding to treatment, thanks to you, she said. Oh, it’s nothing, anything for you. He said. Anything for me? Prevail replied sounding funny. So, how are you preparing for our big day? He asked. Nothing much just getting myself ready for you, she replied. That’s good, be a good girl. He said. Can you please have some respect for me, in two days I will be your lawfully wedded wife, she said. Whatever, he replied. I’m not here to argue with you, in two days I will have your time, he said. Now you don’t have my time? But In two days you will have my time? She said angrily. I’m here to see your mum, not to argue with you, he said. You’re here to see my mum as if she is the one you’re going to marry, she said angrily. If I had the opportunity, definitely the both of you, he replied and walked away. What kind of animal am I getting married to, Prevail asks herself, tears gathering in her eyes as Austin walks away. Mrs. Glady, how is your boy doing? Austin asked. Hey Austin, you’re here? He is getting better, she replies. How are you and Prevail getting along? She asked. I will get along with her after the marriage, he said. After the marriage? She asked. She is going to be your wife anyway, she said. Mrs. Glady don’t act like you don’t know what this marriage is all about, just an arranged marriage, no feelings attached, He said. To you no feelings attached, but to her, you’ll definitely be her first lover, she said shaking her head, she continues. Of course, it’s an arranged marriage but anything you do please treat her nice, she said. Mrs. Glady you are in no position to tell me how I would treat her, it’s definitely up to me to decide, he said. Are you for real Austin? She is just a young innocent girl, if not for her brother’s life I don’t think she would be getting married any sooner, she said. Austin smiled without altering a word. Will this marriage go as planned? Austin asked. Of course, it will go as planned but treat my daughter nice, she said. It’s like you’re going to choose between your son or your daughter, he said. Alright alright whatever, Mrs. Glady sighed. The marriage will hold, she said. Good, Austin replied and left. Mum, Austin is something else, Prevail said. I know but at this point, we don't have a choice, she said. Go home and prepare for your big day, I will be with you soon, she said. Okay, Mum, I will be fine Cynthia will be spending the night with me, she said. Prevail left. She got home and waited for Cynthia to arrive then she decided to take her bath, as she was bathing her room door opened and closed. Cynthia is that you? She asked. But nobody responded, she was curious. She immediately ran out of the bathroom to check who was there, since only two people could enter her room like that without knocking, her mum and Cynthia but her mum was not coming home tonight, it would be Cynthia she thought. Cynthia, I know you love playing games, but stop I’m not putting on anything at the moment, so just tell me it is you, she said but still no response. As she walked to the door, she immediately turned back and saw someone in the dark, she quickly turned on the light.
