Agent Karl Simms was chosen by Brena to watch Steel. Simms didn’t mind, but he got the feeling Brena was just trying to keep him out of the way. Simms was the first black guy from his street in Detroit to join the CIA. His dad wanted him to be a basketball player, but his knee injury at college changed that.
