CHAPTER SIX It took everything she had to stare ahead unwaveringly. Forcing her breathing to slow, she gestured for Mate to continue walking. The guard cleared his throat. “Is someone there?” she asked, swinging her head from side to side as if trying to pinpoint the direction of the sound.
