Making plans

407 Words
(Michaela’s POV) The rest of the day thankfully went ok. I made a mental note to ask my mom about talking to my doctor about a different dose for my medicine and went to meet up with Melissa to make plans for my 18th birthday. (Melissa’s POV) I see my best friend walk up and i can tell by the look, that she’s having a bad day. She’s such a good person but because of her rough start many have decided not to give her a chance. I am really more like family though as our moms are like sisters having grown up together in a small town about 2 hours away. I had a different view of Michaela, it wasn’t her fault she had some difficulties and she’s been working so hard to deal with them. I have this great weekend planned for her birthday which is this Saturday, less than a week away. I thought it would be fun to go back to the town where our moms grew up and see some of the places they spoke of. They have such fun stories of their youth and our little town is so boring nothing exciting ever happens here! So I felt like it was time for her to maybe have a wild weekend, reinvent herself and maybe we can have some of those adventures ourselves! For some reason mom and Mrs Quinn didn’t ever take us to their hometown and it almost seemed like they were hiding certain details when they would reminisce and tell us stories…but the mysterious aspect made a trip there all the more attractive! As she walked close enough I greeted Michaela and she recounted her awkward day. Man does she need this weekend! (Michaela’s POV) After telling Melissa about my crazy day we laughed about other things and fell into an easy conversation about the upcoming weekend. She wouldn’t tell me her exact plans but just that i needed to be ready for fun, pack my best “going out” outfits and to tell my mom we were going to stay in a hotel in Ashford an hour away so we could go to a concert to see our favorite band. I left Melissa to head home and started to pack. The excitement of the unknown made me forget about my day and the voice so i completely forgot to talk to my mom about seeing the doctor.
