Dax POV
Sofia was not pleased. She howled as the nurse pushed her nose back into place, her anger growing as the nurse placed an icepack to help with the pain.
She didn't have a wolf yet, so healing would be slower than if she had one. I leaned against the wall, watching as my mate scowled, her eyes flashing with pure rage.
"That b***h humiliated me," she hissed, "Dax, you have to help me teach her a lesson."
I frowned at her.
"What exactly do you want me to do?"
My voice was even, but there was frustration there, too. I didn't understand what was going on. I should be protective of my mate, I should care more, but all I felt was exasperated with Sofia. The only time I felt even a mediocrum of decency towards her was when she touched my bare skin, and even that felt wrong somehow.
