Dax POV The bow tie felt as though it was strangling me. I tugged on it as I scanned the crowd, my eyes looking for one girl in particular. She wasn't here yet. I felt disappointment sweep over me, even as I forced myself to step into the crowd, to acknowledge those who had come specifically for this milestone. I hadn't shifted yet. I had no doubt I would, though, when the time was right. My parents motioned for me to come over, and I did, resentment simmering inside of me.
