Dax POV The stricken look on Riley's face will haunt me forever. I saw her go ashen, saw her lips almost turn blue when Sofia made the announcement. It broke my heart into a thousand pieces. Sofia's voice faded into the background as I stared at the girl whose heart had just broken along with mine. I wanted to rush forward, wanted to declare it all to be a mistake, but she disappeared from the room with her two friends in tow. I couldn't leave it like this. I needed to explain myself.
