12 12 Darius’s flight arrived a couple of hours ahead of schedule. He’d come home to a quiet house. He searched for Safiya but didn’t see her anywhere. One of the housekeepers informed him she’d gone out for lunch. His first instinct had been to call her, but lately he had found himself in self-preservation mode.
