Chapter Seven

Jane groaned as she slowly got up from the floor and she felt a sharp pain at the back of her head, she slowly walked to the refrigerator to get some ice pack and placed it on her head, “ow” she groaned as she iced her head and the door bell dinged, “coming” Jane yelled and walked to get the door.

“Hey mom” Winnie greeted as she walked in, “hey sweetie, how was school today?” she let out a little smile, “hey Mrs. Harlow” Terry greeted and walked in, “Hi Mrs. Harlow” Wendy smiled brightly, “oh and you brought friends, hey guys” she closed the door, “ wow mom you’ve been working” Winnie looked around to see all the boxses un packed and everything in order, “yeah, had a long day” she winced after touching her head, “why are you icing your head?”Winnie stopped by the staircase, “um, I don’t actually know, I just woke up with this bad headache” she answered, “oh, sorry , let’s go” Winnie said and her friends started walking upstairs, “I made Mac and cheese!” she yelled, “okay mom” Winnie yelled back and they walked in and closed the door

    Winnie closed the door behind them as they walked into her room, “oh so pink and pretty!!!” Terry fell on the bed, “Girl your house is da bomb!, it’s so spacious and beautiful” Wendy twirled, “um, duh it’s a mansion” Terry got up and crossed his leg, “you guys just feel at home and terry, the room color wasn’t my idea” Winnie shook her head as she removed her boots, “I figured” Terry said and they all laughed.

“whoa, I love this house, aside it’s …history, it’s nice” Wendy walked to the window and sat on the couch, “so, heard you and Natasha broke up, fill us in girl” Wendy laid on the couch, “seriously, is she the one telling everyone?, anyways she said she doesn’t want to be with me anymore because she feels I’m distant from her or whatever” She shrugged, “are you?” Wendy asked,

“whoa!, that is some bathtub” Terry yelled from the bathroom, “keeping soaking it all in terry” Wendy chuckled, “I’m not, she just started with this attitude since I told her we moved here” she sighed, “hmn, you’ll find someone better, but I haven’t “ Wendy unbuttoned her jacket, “what happened with you and Tommy?” she turned to look at her, “we um , we broke up, said I’m not in his league of girls” Wendy said at the verge of tears and sat up straight and dabbed her eyes with the hand of her jacket.

“Boys are jerks” she cussed, “I know!” Wendy agreed, still dabbing her eyes.

Terry finished peeing and flushed the toilet and turned to the basin to wash his hands, the reflection of a man was showing on the mirror, terry closed the tap and looked at himself in the mirror, he saw a man standing close to his neck and he turned sharply but no one was there, he quickly ran out of the bathroom,

“um, Winnie I think your mirror is broken” Terry said as he ran out of the bathroom, “broken?, it was fine this morning” she looked at terry, “not like broken or cracked, I mean i saw some creepy stuff, like a man standing by my neck” Terry picked his nails, “a man?, really? We’re literally the only ones in here, I told you not to watch that movie, you’re clearly still terrified” Wendy laughed and Winnie looked deep in thoughts as the incident of what happened in the morning flashed through her memory.

“ Penny for your thoughts?” Wendy looked at Winnie and she smiled, “who’s hungry?” she continued and got up, “I am, but wait, let’s start planning the perfect Halloween party” Wendy got up and opened Winnie’s closet, “I haven’t even asked my mom if she will allow it” Winnie crossed her arms, “ she will, she just has to because I have the perfect outfit in my head” Terry blushed, “ then the snacks, invites, hot boys and outfits” Wendy picked out a costume from her closet, “that is hot!” Terry clicked his tongue at the anime co splay costume Wendy was holding , “you’re wearing this girl” Wendy smiled at Winnie, “no, no, it’s not even fit for Halloween” Winnie collected the costume from Wendy, “Halloween is about costumes, that outfit is a costume” Wendy put her hands on her waist, “but it’s not scary” Winnie complained further, “who said you had to be scary on Halloween?” Wendy arched a brow, “yeah, you can be a sexy anime character, and I bet Natasha won’t know what hit her when she sees you” Terry got up and walked around Winnie, touching her chin with his fingers, Wendy and Terry kept staring at Winnie hoping for a good answer, “fine, I’ll wear it” Winnie laughed, “you guys are the best friends a person could ask for” she continued, “awwwn” Wendy and terry smiled and snuggled Winnie.

“Okay, time for your mom’s Mac and cheese” Wendy said and walked out of the room, “get some for me too” Terry yelled and Wendy closed the door.

Wendy went downstairs into the kitchen and opened the fridge, she bent to carry the Mac and cheese and felt an iced hand touch her shoulders, “whoa” she recoiled in fear and turned around swiftly, with no one else there she bent again to carry the Mac and cheese and as she closed the fridge she saw a small girl with black eye balls and blood stained gown smiling at her, she shrieked and the bowl of food fell from her and she ran out of the kitchen, and Jane ran out of her room.

“What happened?, what’s wrong?” Jane held Wendy’s shoulders, wendy looked at Jane and was just speechless, “um..i have to go” Wendy ran upstairs, “Winnie, I got to go, see you tomorrow” Wendy picked up her bag, “What’s going on?” Winnie got up from bed, “I can’t explain it, I’ll call you” she said ,still terrified and ran out of the room, “bye” terry whispered and followed her, “at least let me see you off” Winnie yelled as she followed them, by the time she got downstairs , they’ve gone.

Winnie and Jane made eye contact with a confused look on their faces
