Nari nervously checked her watch for the umpteenth time as she stood outside the quaint café, her heart racing with anticipation. She had been looking forward to this date with Joshua, but as the minutes ticked by, her excitement started to wane, replaced by a gnawing sense of disappointment.Joshua was supposed to come pick her up by 4pm, she had rung Elle up by 7am that morning telling her about her date that day and her lack of suitable wears.
“Oooohhhh my God......Nari wants to go shopping” elle had screamed. “well I will see you in front of J&ks in 30 minutes” she had said before she hunged up.
they had taken hours from the clothes purchasing to the make up, and hair. Not without the spa session since Elle had said she deserved it as her payment for the stress.
It was 3 minutes till 4 by the time she was comfortably seated on her couch waiting for Joshua's arrival.
Her restlessness had started then right when the clock showed thirty two minutes past four pm. she had called to check if he was still coming and he had told her that something came up that delayed him hence he wouldn't come to pick her up.
“How about you meet me at La Mores on fourth east avenue off brada street. can you do that?” He told her.
“okay sure” she had replied and that was how she found her self in this present situation.

Meanwhile, Joshua cruised round the bustling street, his posture and mannerism exuding an air of nonchalant confidence. He had always been fashionably late, believing it added an aura of mystery and allure to his persona. As he approached the café, he noticed Nari standing by the entrance, her expression a mixture of anxiety and disappointment.
"Hey there, sorry I'm late," Joshua said with a charming smile, oblivious to Nari's growing frustration.
Nari forced a smile, trying to suppress her annoyance. "It's okay, I've just been waiting for a while," she replied, her voice tinged with disappointment. She knew she was looking to die for but it seemed joshua was to busy to notice all the energy she had put in her appearance damn it.
Joshua waved off her concern, his pride refusing to acknowledge his tardiness. "Well, you know how it is, I got caught up with something last minute. But hey, let's not dwell on that. Shall we head inside?"
Reluctantly, Nari followed Joshua into the café, trying to shake off her irritation. Despite his tardiness, she couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards him. As they settled into a cozy corner table, Joshua regaled Nari with tales of his latest adventures, his animated gestures and infectious laughter drawing her in despite herself.
As the evening wore on, Nari found herself enjoying Joshua's company more than she had anticipated. His charm and wit were undeniable, and she couldn't help but be captivated by his magnetic personality. Despite his flaws, there was something undeniably alluring about him.
“Do you need me to take you home” he had asked while paying the bills.
“No I drove my car here ” Nari had replied
"Oh well do drive carefully” he said with a kiss on her cheeks
As they said their goodbyes outside the café, Joshua flashed Nari a dazzling smile, his pride still intact despite his tardiness. "I had a great time tonight," he said, his eyes sparkling with genuine warmth. "We should do this again sometime."
Nari couldn't help but smile back, her annoyance melting away in the face of Joshua's undeniable charm. "I'd like that," she replied, her heart fluttering with anticipation. And as they parted ways, Nari couldn't help but wonder what adventures awaited her on their next date.
Even when Nari felt all sorts of warning signs in her gut, she was ready to try this relationship.
She also realized that she didn't get a word in during the whole conversation
“Oh well I will be a good listener ” she joked with herself while pulling out from the cafe drive way.
Here is to me a wonderful listener on a first date yay!!! she thought,
“I bet Elle would be super pissed about this whole thing but that would be if I tell her which am not gonna do. am not planning to jinx the whole stuff before it starts I hope for a good start ” she sighed
