I stared at Tony as he told me about a joke that made him laugh. My mind was occupied with the night I spent with Guillermo.
While we didn’t have s*x, it felt so nice to establish that emotional connection with him again. For us it was always emotional and less physical.
Knowing Tony for as long as I have, I can tell when he wants to avoid a serious discussion because he cracks jokes that make no logical sense.
I let out a soft sigh and asked the question he probably didn’t want to hear, “How’s your mom?”
I could see the question hit him like a car, because he stopped talking and his eyes widened in shock.
