The guardian hummed for a moment. " But before you go in there, there is something I must ask. I see the path that led you here has not been easy, " he began, turning towards the ranger first. " There is suffering in your past - your suffering, and the suffering of others. You abandoned your lover, leaving her in the hands of you and her father, knowing they would show no compassion. " the spirit then made a short pause. " Do you think you have failed her ? "
Varonno frowned, seemingly confused as to how the spirit knew of his past. " Yes. I should not have feared my father, family honors and names be cursed. " he answered finally, with no small hint of anger in his voice. " Thank you. That is all I wished to know " responded the guardian.
