Chapter 69

Desiree’s POV

The next day, we met Brenda in the office at 10am. According to her, her parents are embarrassed by her and want her out of the house. She wants to move to the packhouse because it will be better for the baby to be with its father. While she is talking to the boys, I link her mother

“Mrs. Cross, this is future Luna Desiree”

“Morning Luna. You can call me Vera”

“Vera, do you have a problem with your daughter Brenda living in your home while she is pregnant?” I ask

“No Luna. I did have a conversation with her a few days ago and told her I was disappointed and embarrassed by her actions. But I would never put her out” she replies

“Thank you, Vera,”

“Okay, Brenda, I just linked your mother, and she said she did not put you out. She admits to being disappointed and embarrassed by your actions, but she did not put you out. So, no, you can’t live in the packhouse. If you wish to leave your parents’ home, we can get you a 2-bedroom cottage for you and the baby. Which one?”

“Luna, I doubt she would tell you the truth about our situation” she states

“So, now you are calling your mother a liar?”

“No. I’m just saying….” She stutters

“It doesn’t matter what you are saying, Brenda. Your options are with your parents or a cottage. Which one do you want?” Anthony says

“I want the cottage, but I don’t have money for furniture and stuff” she says

“The cottage comes furnished. All omegas have jobs and get paid, so there’s no reason you don’t have money to live off. So, you want a cottage?” he says

“Yes, Alpha” she replies

“Great, Gamma Sharon will contact you with the information, once it’s all set up. Have a good day” he says, dismissing her

She doesn’t leave but just sits there staring at him

“Is there anything else Brenda?” he asks

“I really wanted to move into the packhouse” she whines

“Brenda Cross, you have been told multiple times you will not be allowed to move into the packhouse. You asked for accommodation outside your parents’ home and you have it. This is the last time we will be having this conversation. You will not live in the packhouse and that is final. Do I make myself clear?”

“Yes, Alpha, she says bowing”

“Now leave” he says

Desiree’s POV

The guys are still upset because of my challenge to ‘The Master’. They are dealing with it because they can’t do anything about it. We had a meeting with all the ranked members and told them what happened. None of the men agreed with my decision to goad him, but the women loved the banter when I gave them details of the conversation. We also talked about Brigette Dash. Alpha Trevor said they used to be close friends with the Dash family but drifted apart after some business dealings. Is it possible that when they were little we hoped they would be mates? Yes, but that’s it. There was no agreement or promise that it would ever happen. I told them, based on the screaming match we had, she feels they were promised to her, so be prepared.

Today is the day I go shopping for another dress. This is the appointment set up by Edith and Edwina. I know something is going to happen, I just don’t want anyone hurt. Everyone is meeting at the packhouse and the boys rented a limo to take us. My mom, Mama Nat, Grandma and Aunt Susan are coming along with Luna Belinda, Paulette, Cora, Sharon and Leticia. Claudia is still trying to convince Kane to let her come, but with her being pregnant and my gut feeling about the situation, I asked her not to. She will at least be at Crescent Lake when we get back. The boys insisted on warriors going with us. There will be eight warriors in two SUVs along with our driver, Zach and David. My Gamma pretty much told me; where you go, I go. We are all at the front of the packhouse getting ready to leave

“Have fun today.” Antoine says

“I will, but I have a favor to ask of you two. Keep an eye on Edith and Edwina, no matter what, don’t let them leave the pack” I say

“Desi, we have to have a reason to keep them here” Anthony says

“Make some s**t up. I don’t care” I say frustrated

“We can’t just impede the movements of pack members” he says

“I tell you I think they are up to something. I am now going to an appointment conveniently set up by them, and you are worried about impeding their movements. Whatever. Bye” I said, walking towards the car

“Wes, watch Edith and Edwina. I think they are up to something and will try to leave the pack while I’m gone” I tell him

“Okay Luna, I got them. You guys stay safe!” he says

“We will. Thank you, Wes”

The drive to the dress shop is about an hour and fifteen minutes. The first group of warriors go into the dress shop first to check it out. Then we are allowed to go in. Only the females and David go inside the dress shop at first. Once they check the outside perimeter, the original four come inside. The other four and Zach monitor outside. The driver remains at or close to the driver’s side door. When we get there, we are the only ones there. We are greeted by Laura

“Luna Desiree, my name is Laura, and I will be your consultant”

“Are we the only appointment today, Laura? For such a popular place, it sure seems deserted” I question

“We were originally closed today. But Lennon agreed to open just for you because his close friends asked him to” she says, beaming

“Is Lennon here? Will I get to meet him?” I ask

“No, it’s just me. The other consultants have kids and plans already, so I volunteered to come in”

“Thank you very much Laura. What pack are you from?”

“Sharp Claw Pack”

“Alpha Patrick’s pack” I say

“You know my Alpha?” she asks

“Yes, he is very good friends with my mate” I reply

“She has no idea what’s going on, protect her when s**t hits the fan” I link to my cousins and brother

I introduced her to everyone with me, and we started looking around. I give her an idea of what I am looking for, and she pulls a few dresses. She gives us some champagne and I start trying on dresses

“You girls can also look at dresses for your weddings too” Mom says

“We’ll wait and make an appointment when our moms are with us” Sharon says

I have tried on a few dresses and there are two I really like. I am trying on the one my mom suggested when the door opens. She and Mama Nat come in

“Mom? Mama Nat? Why are you guys crying?” I ask

“This is a very emotional day, bug”

“I know Mom”

“Desiree, I just want to thank you for including me in this” Mama Nat says

“No thank you is necessary. I am happy to have you here” I reply

“You look beautiful in all the dresses, but I like that one the best” Mom says, pointing to the one I just took off

“I like that one too” Mama Nat says, smiling through her tears

“That’s not the one you picked; this one is” I say

“I know, but that one is more you” mom says, smiling

I walk over to hug her when I hear ticking

“Desi, bomb” Celestia says

“Bomb” I say opening my link, right as it goes off

I am able to shield my mom’s with my body from the blast, but we get blown across the room. My mom’s hit the wall. Mama Nat flew to the other side of the room, she received more of the blast. A couple of seconds later, another bomb goes off. I stood up, trying to orient myself. Mom crumbles to the floor and Mama Nat is not moving. I turned around when I was hit with an awful stench, as I see rogues coming through a large hole on the side of the building. The door is ripped open; David comes in, followed by Leti and Sharon. Sharon goes to my mom’s. Leti and David stand beside me. David checks on me and I tell him I’m okay.

“I want a few alive” I link them

“Who’s the leader?” David asks

“I guess that would be me” A tall blond-haired man comes in through the hole in the wall

“Good. Leti”

Leti put him in a water bubble. I caused an aneurysm and burst it in the brains of the other rogues in front of us. David shifts and jumps through the whole, and he joins the rest of the team, coming up behind them. Leti manipulates the bubble so it’s only covering his body. I then add cold air encasing him in ice from the neck down.

“Desi, Aunt Mary is hurt and Renatta is not moving. We need to get to the doctor.” Sharon says

“Luna, is everyone out there, okay?” I link Luna Belinda

“Yes, Desiree, a couple of scrapes and scratches but nothing fatal. We are all good” she links

“My moms are hurt. I’m opening a portal to the pack. Send Cora here”

“Go, we’ll meet you there”

“David, get everyone home. If you can find the designer, I want him bought to the pack. My moms are hurt, I’m opening a portal to the pack”

“Yes, Luna”

“Zach, come to the back and help me. Bring another warrior with you” I link him

“Zach, I need you and Rick to get my mom’s”

They pick them up and I open a portal to Crescent Lake

“Leti, come with me and bring the rogue. Sharon, help David clean up, and I’ll meet you at home”

We walked through the portal and straight to the hospital

“Dr Hall, I have two patients. I am in the VIP room. I need you now” I link him

“Yes Luna”

“Anthony, Antonie. We were attacked. My mom’s got hurt. We’re at the hospital”

“On our way, Desi”

“Wesley, meet Leticia at the cells. We have a prisoner”

“Yes, Luna”

“Leti, after you drop the prisoner at the cells, please go get my dad”

“Cora, go get Warren, tell him what happened and bring him here”

I sit and watch Dr Hall and a nurse work on my Mom. While Dr Mills and another nurse work on Mama Nat. As soon as the twins come into the room, I fell apart crying.
