Chapter 59

Desiree's POV

We meet up with Leticia, Wesley, Sharon and David. They, too, were giving their men a tour of their new suites. The designer twins were a lot more open to helping them than me, but I don’t care, my suite is done, and we all love it. I still need to do my office, but we’ll see how that goes. We open a portal to Aunt Susan’s coven. In addition to us, I am also bringing our head warrior Ian and my new brother Zach. I figured Aunt Susan might be able to get additional information from his memories that I couldn’t. The plan is to do the locater spell to find Renatta today.

We walked out of the portal into the coven’s front yard. My grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts and cousins are all there. There is also someone there I did not expect to see, but I will address him later. Before I can start the introduction, Ian runs to my cousin Patricia. He embraces her and lifts her off the ground, growling MATE. Patricia screams but we’re not sure if it’s from fear or excitement. I run to her and force him to put her down before Uncle Kyle intervenes and takes him down for attacking his daughter.

“Ian put my cousin down”

“Luna, she is my mate”

“I understand, but she is a witch, she may not feel it the same way. How about we talk to her first”, I suggest

He puts her down and she is beaming. So, I guess that scream was not from fear. I make introductions. Then Patricia takes Ian so they can talk. I then approach the awkward situation of an unwanted guest.

“Paul, what are you doing here?”

“Hey Desi? How are you?”

“First Paul, to you my name is Desiree. We are not friends, so, don’t try to be. And again, what are you doing here?”

“My cousin met her beloved and moved to this coven. I was visiting her when I heard you were coming, and I wanted to say hello”

“I don’t know why you would want to talk to me or think I would want to talk to you. But whatever; hi, now you can go back to whatever you were doing”

“Desi, I wanted to apologize and fix our relationship” he said stepping towards me

The twins growl and pull me behind them and step up to Paul. I put my hand on their backs and stop them from tearing him apart. Paul is a fairly good warlock, but he can’t stop two alphas.

“Paul, there’s no relationship to fix. I am marked and mated by my mates. I accept your apology, but that is all. You hit me and I won’t forgive that. And again, don’t call me Desi”, I say standing behind my twins

“Desiree, please listen to me. I was young and stupid. I am sorry for hitting you, but we should be together. We are both witches. They are not like us” he says

“Listen, you are pushing my patience. Desi is our mate. She is not yours and won’t ever be yours. And the fact you would say she’s not like us shows you don’t even know her. Desiree is a hybrid; she has a wolf too”, Antoine says

“Now leave our mate alone before I kill you”, Anthony says

“You have a wolf? You are a hybrid? You never told me. But we can still fix this. I want us to be together. I miss you” he pleads. The twins let out a deafening growl

“Okay, that is enough. Paul, I have mates, they are my beloveds. I love them, and I am marked by them, so technically we are married. I don’t want you! We broke up, and I have never thought of us getting back together. So, the answer is NO! Now leave us alone” I exclaim

We leave to go to Aunt Susan’s office. She investigates Zach’s memories and recognizes the type of place he found Renatta in 10 years ago. She said it is a witch community. Rogue witches go there to live when they are shunned or kicked out of their coven. It’s just a group of witches with no tie to any coven. They band together and look out for each other. There are a lot of communities like this around the world. Before his memory of Renatta, Zach’s memories are of him driving in the woods and there was dense foliage. There was also frost on the ground, so we are thinking it was during winter or late autumn. We believe she is still in the US because Zach said he has never traveled outside the US. She is aware of a few communities that fit those types of surroundings. Uncle Kyle and grandpa are sent to investigate with the little information we do have.

We decided to proceed with the locator spell and see what happens. My grandma is a specialist on this. She sets up her supplies and gathers a few drops of blood from me. She mixed the ingredients for the spell and a cauldron, it hissed and turned from a murky brown color to a yellow color. Grandma was very happy about that. Then she put 3 drops of my blood in, it hissed again, and a pink cloud of smoke was produced. She starts clapping and jumping

“The pink cloud means she is alive. This spell may take some time. I added the ability for it to let me know when it’s finished. Let’s go eat dinner. I’ll lock this door so no one else can get in. No need us sitting here staring at it for hours” she said with a smile

We all filed out of the room and headed for the dining room in the main house. Everyone doesn’t eat together in the coven like at the pack, but my family always had dinner together. As we are headed to the dining room, my grandmother pulls me back in step with her

“How are things going with the twins?”

“Sometimes it’s amazing and other times I want to kill them”

“So, you love them” she says laughing

“I do, but their actions just keep causing trouble. I had to fight another girl who tried to take them from me because they had s*x with her in the past and felt she should be their mate, not me”

“You can’t blame them for all of that now. It is the other women who are going against the bond and trying to force themselves on them”, she says

“I understand that, grandma, but they act all nonchalant about things. This same girl told me she was there to take them. I told them their ‘friend’ said she was here to take them from me, and I was not good enough for them. That they should be with her, not me. When I told them, they said I misunderstood, and she is just a friend and would never say anything like that”, I explained

“What? So, they called you a liar?!”

“That’s the stuff that pisses me off. I know I can’t blame them for their past even though it upsets me. It’s the way they respond to things, like it’s nothing, and I’m overexaggerating. For example, there is a girl in the pack who says she is carrying their child.”

“Have you read her? Is it their child?” she questions

“I did, and she doesn’t know. She had s*x with a few guys around the same time. She really hopes it’s theirs. But she is doing it so that she can get privileges from having the alphas pup. Since they explained that they would care for the baby, but she gets nothing, she has not been so pushy. I just want them to see how their actions affect not just them but others”

“I understand. Now about Paul?” she asks

“I don’t even know what his deal is. We broke up over two years ago. I don’t want him” I exclaim

“I don’t think he is going to accept that, so you be careful”

We enter the dining room and sit down to eat. I don’t know why but Paul is also at dinner. I don’t know what his deal is, but I don’t trust him. Any man that will hit a woman can’t be trusted in my eyes. We had a delicious dinner, and the chef made my special dessert. It is a chocolate cake in cherry sauce. It’s her own recipe and I fell in love with it when I was here. I finish dessert and start to feel very tired and have a slight headache

“I am going to excuse myself and go lay down” I say

“Are you okay” Antoine asks, concerned

“I’m just tired and have a slight headache. I’ll be fine with a little rest”

“We’ll come with you”, Anthony says

“That’s not necessary. Go take the tour with Leticia and Sharon. Make sure everything is okay with Ian and my cousin Patricia. I’ll just be in my room resting. Come to me when you are done” I say kissing them both and going upstairs. I lay down and my head feels weird.

“Celestia, what is going on?”

“Something is not right Desiree. I think we have been drugged”

“Who would be after us here?”

“I don’t know, but I will try to contact Stone and Granite”

I fell into a deep sleep. I don’t know how long I have been out, but after a while I hear a soft sweet voice

“Desiree, my dear, wake up. Wake up Desiree.”

I wake up in a lush garden with beautiful flowers and trees that seem extra vibrant. There are three women standing over me, smiling down at me

“What is going on?”

“Hi Desiree. We need you to wake up. There is a lot we need to discuss and not a lot of time. My name is Selene, I am the Moon Goddess. This is Hecate. She is the Goddess of witchcraft and Athena the Goddess of War. Athena represents her mom, Hera; Hera is the Goddess of Women. We are the goddesses that blessed you.
