Desiree's POV
After dealing with the design twins and talking to my mates, I went back to the pool area to continue looking up office ideas. Since I am doing this myself, I need to imagine the room as I want it. I need to contact the construction crew if I want to change the structure of the room. I need paint samples and to search for furniture for the office. I think I am going with a rose gold, gold, white and black colored theme. As I get the colors set, I start seeing what I want in the room. As I am putting things together and searching for things I want, I see Zach come to the pool area. I watch him and realize he is moving kinda slow, which is not like him.
“Hey big bro, you, okay?”
“Just tired little sis. I haven’t been sleeping well”
“Do you normally have sleep issues?”
“I did when I was at the castle; but it wasn’t all the time, every couple of months I would just have a stretch of days of nightmares and no sleep. This is the first time since I have been here that I have had a sleep issue. The last 3 days have been horrible”
“Tell me about your dreams?”
“They are nightmares about me trying to escape something. I always wake up right before someone is offering me help”
“Are all the nightmares the same or at least have the same backstory?” I ask
“Not all the same but, a similar story. The ones over the last 3 days and the ones at the castle. The ones at the castle were more vivid though. The ones here are scarier and more rushed, like it’s a short story instead of the full story”
“That’s concerning to me. The Master is a manipulator of dreams. You think he’s trying to get to you that way since you are no longer part of his army?”
“I never thought about that and to be honest I am too tired to truly process everything you just said” he says, yawning
I need to know what’s going on in his dreams. Could The Master be involved? I’m worried they are trying to take him or get to me via him
“The Goddess said we can dream walk now. Why don’t we try it on Zach” Celestia asks
“I have no idea what I’m doing. They didn’t give me any idea on how to use the power” I respond
“They said it’s an extension of you being able to see memories and hear thoughts. So, it is probably similar. Who better to practice with than Zach” she says
My phone rings before I get a chance to talk to him
“Desiree!!” Aunt Susan yells as soon as I answers the phone
“What made you so happy?” I ask laughing
“You need to come to the coven now!”
“Auntie, is something wrong?”
“No, it’s good. Come now”
“Okay, I’ll see you in 15 minutes”
We hang up, and I link the twins to let them know I’m going to the coven. They want to come too, but have a meeting with a neighboring pack in 10 minutes. I tell them I will be fine, but they insist I take someone with me. I agree to take my cousins, Zach and David. Since things with the twins have become official, David and I are getting closer, and he truly is the best person to be my Gamma. Being that the role of the Gamma is the Luna’s protector, he is my Beta and I have come to rely on him more and more. I call the girls and tell them we need to get to the coven. We decide they will open their own portal instead of coming all the way to me. Minutes later, we all walk out onto the front lawn of the coven. My Aunt and grandparents are there waiting for us. I run and hug them both
“I am so happy to see you guys. Why did I need to come in such a hurry?”
“We have a surprise for you” grandma says
They led us all into the house and up to Aunt Susan’s office. Sitting on the couch is a woman who looks a lot like me. She has a little darker skin complexion, she is a little taller and her hair is in lock twists with ornaments and shells in it. Her eyes are the same color as my grandpa’s, a light brown that you get lost in. Every other feature is identical to mine. We just stare at each other
“Desiree, I would like to introduce you to my daughter and your mother, Renatta” grandma says, introducing us
There are gasps and sobs heard in the room, as Renatta and I just keep staring at each other. I don’t know what to do here. Do I hug her? Shake her hand? How do you greet your mother? Tears start welling in my eyes
“I don’t know what the proper protocol is in a situation like this. I have been waiting years to meet you, but I never knew what I would do when I did” I say, she smiles in response
“I don’t know about you, but I’m a touchy-feely person. So, can I hug you?” I ask as the tears fall
She nods and I run into her sobbing. She envelops me in a crushing hug and starts to cry. The office door then bursts open, and my parents run in. My mom runs and embraces us both. Now we’re all crying even louder. After a while, we all separated. I greet my dad with a hug
“I think proper introductions all around are needed” I say. We all sit
“Renatta, this is my adopted parents, Mary and Randolph Maxwell. These are my cousins, Sharon and Leticia…”
“You are witches?” she interrupts
“Yes, we found out our grandmother was a witch and we both inherited powers at 16”, Sharon answered.
“This is David. He is Sharon’s mate and my Gamma”
“You are a Luna? You are a werewolf, mate?”
“Yes, we will be taking over the pack in a few weeks. Leticia is also mated to a wolf, our Beta” I reply
“Nat, she has twin werewolf mates” Aunt Sharon says, smirking
“Twins? Wow!” she replies, smiling at me
“And this is ….”
“Zach!!” she screams
“Hi Renatta” he says, waving
“You found her?” she says
“Just recently, but she saved me just like you said she would” he replied to her
“Say what?” I questioned them
“When he found me. I told him about you, and he said he would find you and protect you. I told him he needed you more because you would save him from The Master”, she said
“I did. Now I have another big brother”
“Another?” she questioned
“Yeah, Kane is our brother. He is the one who challenged Nicholas and killed him. He is the Alpha of Bloodmoon now and mated to one of my best friends”
“Desi, they are ready” David whispers to me
“There are two other people I want you to meet” I tell Renatta
I open a portal, allowing Wesley, Anthony and Antoine to enter the office. I introduce them all to Renatta
“There is someone I want you all to meet also” she opens a portal, and a tall pale man steps out
“VAMPIRE” the twins, say, and pull me to them
