Chapter 70

Desiree's POV

The injury from the blast caused Mama Nat a concussion but no brain injury. She also has a burn on her arm and bruising. She is in a coma but stable. Dr Mills says she should wake up after her body heals. We moved her to another room and Warren is staying with her. My mom has two broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, a hemothorax and a concussion that has caused brain swelling. She has a chest tube, a sling and in an induced coma to allow time for the brain swelling to decrease. I know she will be okay with time. Dr Hall said he will take her out of the coma once the CT shows the swelling has decreased to an acceptable level. It may be at least a week. She has IV fluids and that is enough for now regarding nutrition. If, for whatever reason, she is in a coma longer, then other nutritional options will be contemplated. We put a bed in her room for my dad to stay with her. I get him settled and have an omega bring him some food, also making sure they bring him food three times a day while he is there.

Now that I know my mom will survive, I am angry. I need answers. I turned to the twins

“Where are the prisoners?” I link them

“The cells. You ready to talk to them?” Anthony asks

“Yes, I want Edith and Edwina too”

“Okay, I’ll bring them to different interrogation rooms”

“Were we able to find the designer?”

“Yes, he’s in the cells also”

We walk to the cells to see the prisoners. We go to the designer first.

“Mr. Leonne, you opened your shop today to accommodate an appointment requested by friends of yours by the name of Edith and Edwina. Why?”

“They said it was for a friend, and they had a surprise for her” he answers

“Is it customary for you to open your shop and not be available?”

“No”

“Then why did you do it today?”

“They told me it wasn’t going to be a big sale, so why should I be there?”

“If it wasn’t a big sale, why open the store at all?” I question

He doesn’t respond

“Are you aware that two holes were blown into the side of your store by bombs?”

Again, no answer

“So, it seems you were aware of what the plan was. What do those girls have on you that you would allow them to blow up your store?” I question

No answer but I hear what I need to

“They are your mates, and asked you to help them try to take my mates?” I question

“What? Have they rejected you?” the twin’s question. He shakes his head no

“They want to be Lunas, and I can’t give them that. So, I wanted to help them get what they wanted. We already mated; I knew I would die when they rejected me. That is why I did not care about what happened to my shop” he cries

“Dude, where’s your self-esteem? Why didn’t you just reject them and find a chosen mate or possibly get a second chance mate? You may not be an alpha, but you are a successful designer. That is something” Antoine said

“So, because you were too weak to tell them no, you are now an accomplice to the kidnapping of the Luna of Crescent Lake. Welcome to our dungeons, we will be discussing your sentencing with the council later this week” Anthony says flatly

“Luna, I did not know what they were going to do” he pleads

“That’s a lie” I say

“They said there was a human Luna they wanted to get rid of, that’s all” he states

“So, you knew it was a threat to a Luna and you went along with them. Threatening a Luna, harming a Luna or kidnapping a Luna are all punishable by death. It doesn’t matter which Luna it was or whether she was human or not. You participated in harming a Luna. You are guilty!” Antoine said

We got up and left the room. We will go talk to the twins next. They are cuffed to the table. We walk in and take the seats across from them

“Alpha’s, can we ask why we are here?”

“You will be informed of your allegations. Don’t speak unless spoken to. Do you understand?” Anthony states

“Yes, Alpha’s”

“Today a group of rogues attacked the dress shop you arranged for me to have an appointment at. Was this arranged by you?” I ask

“No, we knew nothing about this” Edith says

“That is a lie. You should know that we already spoke to your friend Leonne” I say

“So, let’s ask again. Did you arrange for rogues to attack the dress shop to attack Luna Desiree?” Anthony asks sternly

“Alpha, we just set up the appointment. We did not know rogues were coming”

“Another lie. Are you going to continue with the lying, because my next step is torture if you don’t start telling me the truth” I say

“You can’t…..” Edwina says

“Don’t f*****g tell me what I can’t do. I am the Luna of this pack, and I have all the authority to beat the s**t out of you. Now my mothers are lying in hospital beds in a coma due to that attack. It is taking all my willpower to actually ask these questions and not just kill your asses. So, the last thing you want to do is disrespect me or tell me what I can or can’t do” I scream pushing my aura out and making them bow

“Were you involved in the plan to have rogues kidnap Desiree from the dress shop you set up an appointment at” Anthony asks extending his aura

“Yes, Alpha” Edith whispers

“Who else was part of this plan?” Antoine questions

Before they get a chance to answer, I hear the name I never expected

“ALPHA TEDDY” I yell and stomped out the door

I am pacing and trying to calm down when we get a link from Alpha Trevor

“Guys, I just received a call from Simon, Alpha Teddy Turner’s Gamma. He was with him at the ball. He says he doesn’t know the details, but he is concerned that Desiree is in danger. He said his Alpha is working with some warlock to get Desiree back. He even hired rogues and moved them into the pack territory. Today they all left but none have returned, and Teddy is losing his s**t. He says it was hard for him to make this call and go against his alpha, but he doesn’t agree with his actions towards Desiree”

“Thank you, Dad, we need a ASAP meeting with the council” Anthony says

I walked into the room with the rogue. He was removed from the ice about two hours ago. He is still shivering

“What are you? What did you do to me?” he asks with his teeth chattering

“We encased you in ice. I see you are still cold. I can warm you up” I offer producing a fireball and bounce it between my hands

“No. I’m good” he says trying to back up

At that time, the twins walk into the room and take a seat

“Who hired you to kidnap me?” I ask

No answer

“Rogue, you are going to die no matter what. You can answer our questions, and we will make your death quick and painless, or we will torture you within an inch of your life, then kill you painfully”, Antoine says menacingly

No answer

“You are very loyal to a man who made you walk into a situation blind. He didn’t even tell you who you were going up against. This is the man you are protecting. This is your last chance to tell us who hired you?” Antoine said

No answer

“Okay, your choice. We will be sure to tell Alpha Teddy you protected him. I hope you were not expecting him to come help you” we laughed

I heated my hand and touched his. Burning him

“My mothers were injured in the attack. We gave you the chance to make this simple, but you didn’t take it. Now I’m going to make you hurt. Welcome to hell” I say

He starts to scream as you start to smell burnt flesh and see smoke coming from our joined hands. I pull my hand away and his hand is melted to the table

“That looks bad. We will probably have to cut your hand off. Oh Well!” Anthony says

We all get up and go to the office and wait for the council meeting
