Chapter 74

Anthony’s POV

I knew challenging Turner was a possibility for Desiree. She just wanted to kill him, but she didn’t want to cause any trouble with the council. This way, he still died, but Crescent Lake would not be in trouble. I knew Desiree could beat him, but I could not watch her fight him. I pleaded with her while we were in the car to let me do it. I can’t take the chance that she would get hurt.

I get support from all that are with us. I get a passionate kiss from my mate and then step into the open area to challenge Alpha Teddy Turner. I want to snap his neck just for trying to take my mate from me. I will do this the right way, but he is dying tonight. We circle each other, assessing each other and looking for weaknesses. I don’t know much about Turner, but I know he got his title from his father. He should be well-trained as an alpha and warrior. Observing his stance, I don’t see confidence; I actually see him hesitate. That’s weird.

He launches at me with a jab. I was able to block his attack. He follows with a right hook and I catch his arm and throw him to the ground. He stands and charges at me, staying low and catching me at my waist. We both go down to the ground, him on top of me until I flipped us both and pinned him down with my body. I delivered a few blows to his face before getting up. He is getting up slowly and stumbles a bit, maybe I knocked his equilibrium off with the hit to the head. He comes at me again, and I dodge his hit, but he recovers and hits me in the ribs twice. Before I get a chance to turn around, he attacks me from the back and tries to push me to the ground. I dig in my heals and push us backward so we are crashing to the ground with me on top of him. We fall, and I deliver two elbows to his side and, rolling off, I jump up. He is on all fours to get up, and I kick him, in the head, knocking him down. As he tries to get up again, I put him in a choke hold and lift him off the ground. I continue to tighten my hold as he gasps and fights me to release. I then feel his claws jab into my thigh, blood starts oozing from my leg. With that, I loosen my grip, and he slashes my abdomen as he spins away from me. He then turns into a large gray wolf. I shift into Steele, who is not only bigger but also more muscular than Turner’s wolf. His wolf rushes at Steel. Steel swipes his paw across the wolf's muzzle, then rams into his side, knocking him down. He starts to s***h and claw at Turner’s wolf; he does this until he stops fighting. I start to feel dizzy, and my wounds are burning. Steele puts his paw on Turner’s wolf’s neck. Applying all his weight until there was a pop sound and breaking his neck. We walk to Desiree and I shift back laying in front of her

“Something is not right” I say and pass out

Desiree’s POV

Anthony passed out in my arms. He killed Alpha Teddy, but his wounds are still bleeding. I lean down and they smell weird. I have Paulette and Cora smell. Cora recoils back from the wound

“That’s silver Desi. There’s silver in his wounds. We have to get him back” Cora says backing away

“How did silver get into my brother’s wounds? Your Alpha is a cheater!” Antoine yells

“We can fix this Desi” Celestia tells me

I place my hand over the slashes on his side, they are bleeding the most. As my hand touches the wound, I close my eyes and concentrate on the silver coming out and the wound closing up. My hands and his side start to glow white. The silver is pulled out and floats out of the wound, then I watch as the bleeding stops, and the skin begins to reattach itself. I do the same thing with the leg wound and the same thing happens. Since when can I heal someone? Can I heal anyone or just my mates? When did all of this happen?

I continue the process until the wound has stopped bleeding and is almost closed. I then cleaned his leg with water, and he starts to wake up. Antoine kneels down to his brother

“Hey baby?” I say

“Desi, I think he did something to me” Ant says

“He must have coated his claws with silver. But don’t worry, you killed him, and I healed you” I say

“Since when can you heal someone?” he asks

“Don’t know but I did it” I reply

“Anthony, you did amazing in that fight and then Desiree healed you. She is also amazing. I don’t know how it happened, but when Cora smelled the silver I was worried I would lose you” Antoine says to Anthony

“Celestia?”

“Girl, I don’t know. We didn’t have that power yesterday. It was a feeling”

“It must only be for the twins because I wasn’t able to heal either of my mom’s”

“But we didn’t really try either”

“True, can’t hurt to try. And when did Steel get so big”

“I don’t know but I like it”

“Maybe it’s part of the bond. We get new powers, they get more strength”

“Possible. I know I need some time with my new and improved mates”

I disconnect from her laughing.

“Desi, you healed me?” Anthony questions

“Yeah, I didn’t know I could do that” I reply

We stand and I conjure clothes for him. We embrace and I make sure he is okay before I walk over to Simon and Cole

“I am sorry. I know he was your friend” I say

“He was but he stopped acting like it after meeting with that warlock. I mean he coated his claws with silver, how dishonorable can you be?” Cole replied

“Yeah, he bought rogues that were harassing our pack members. Not okay” Simon responds

“I am leaving you two in charge until I talk to my mates, and we confer with the council. I will be talking to you soon. My Luna Ceremony is on Saturday, so I may not get things settled until after that. Is there anything you guys need now? Are you good with food and supplies?” I question

“Yes Luna. I will check the books and contact you with concerns” Cole replies

“I want Turner’s phone” Antoine states coming up to us

“Yes alpha. We will find it and provide it to you”

“Does he have the number for the warlock?” I ask

“That I don’t know Luna. The warlock came to the pack asking for his help” Cole states

“Elder Edwards, were all proceedings with the approval of the Elder Council? Are there any issue with Crescent Lake?”

“No Luna, I understand that was difficult for you, but I support all the decisions and actions performed her today” he says
