Chapter 61

Anthony’s POV

We took the tour of the coven with the guys. Desiree once said that she likes the pack because it’s more like a family, where the coven felt like people who just so happened to live together. I understand what she means now. The people were kind but not friendly or welcoming. Desiree’s Uncle Joseph and adopted father had a ‘talk’ with Antoine and me about things that had happened. They basically told us; they didn’t like how we had treated Desiree. That we are causing her more stress and heartache. That she doesn’t deserve any of this. That we better get our s**t together, or they are going to kick our asses. We are told that this is also the thoughts of her Uncle Kyle and grandpa. They were really upset, and they have all rights to be. We have not been the best mates, and we already promised ourselves and her that we will do better.

Desiree went to lay down after dinner. She had a headache. Though I enjoyed the tour, I miss my mate. The tour was about an hour. We met up with Ivan and Desiree’s cousin Patricia. They met and mated. I’m glad Patricia’s father, Kyle, is not here for that information. The plan is that she is going to move to the pack, but we will give her a couple of days to pack and say goodbye. Ivan will stay with her, and they will drive back. Leticia walks us to our room. Upon opening the door, Desiree is not there. Her scent is there, but she has been gone for at least an hour. We called her family to see if she is with them and no one has seen her since she left the dining room. Now I am worried, and Stone is getting angry. Where is my mate?

We check the house and adjacent land, and she couldn’t be found. Her scent doesn’t leave the room, so we think they portaled out. We tried to link her and get nothing. It’s not like when she puts up a block, it’s just nothing. Desiree’s grandmother does a scrying spell and we can’t find her. Her family believes she is being blocked by magic.

“WHERE IS MY MATE” Steele pushed forward and he is angry. He is releasing his alpha aura and making others cower to him

“They are trying to find her Stone. Give control back to Anthony” Antoine says

“Where is that punk ass b***h who hit her before? Did he take her? I will kill him” Steele growls

“I haven’t seen Paul since dinner” Aunt Susan says

“We’ll go find him” her uncle and cousin say

“IF HE HURTS HER…...HE WILL DIE” Stone says

“We’ll find her. Bring Anthony back, and you work with Granite to find Celestia” Antoine pleads

Desiree’s uncles and cousins return, and they can’t find Paul or his mother. I have concluded they took her. If Desi doesn’t kill them, I will. It has been two hours since we discovered she was missing, and I am slowly losing my s**t. I needed to run, so I went to the woods behind the house and shifted. I was accompanied by my brother, my Beta and my Gamma. We run for a couple of hours until I felt a tug on my mind.

“Do you feel that?” I linked Antoine

“Yeah, I think it’s Celestia” he responds

We go back to our clothes, shift and get dressed. Antoine meditates and clears his mind to try and establish a link with Celestia. He is calmer right now. I know he is worried, but he has been able to remain calmer than I, so there is a better chance for him to make that connection. It takes about 15 minutes, and I can feel Desiree’s anger. Stone says he spoke to Celestia, and they are in Piney Woods, TX. We found her family and gave them the information. I want my mate back now.

Desiree’s POV

I’m done with these people. How can they take me after I already told them I didn’t want to be with him? And his f*****g mother just went along with his plan, like it was normal. I am so tired of going through stuff like this. First, it’s the twins and their obsessive s*x partners. Now it’s my ex-boyfriend. I close my eyes and meditate. Locating and identifying the surrounding magic. I see the spell concealing us, but there’s something else. This is not Paul or his mother’s magic; they don’t have the strength for this type of spell.

“Who are you working with?” They look at me surprised

“Neither of you are strong enough to produce this concealing spell. So, who is it?” I asked

“Don’t worry about it. He’s going to make you into the compliant and obedient beloved my son deserves”, Paul’s mom says. I read her thoughts and get angry

“How do you know The Master? What did he promise you to do this?” I demand

“H..H..How did you….?” Paul stammers

“He is going to take your powers and bind your wolf. Then he will wipe your memory. Then he promised to give you to Paul. You will become his beloved. For some reason, he wants you so he will have you. You will take care of him like a good girl and provide him with an heir. You think you are so special. I am going to make you my slave. You will cook, clean and care for us. That is what we get out of it. The chance to be rid of you, Ms. High and Mighty. You will be nothing after we are done with you. You will be…...” she stopped talking and fell over dead

“MOM? Mom, wake up. MOM??? What happened?” Paul cried.

I watch him shake, scream and try to revive his mother. I was done listening to her. Who knew she hated me so much? Is it my fault I was given my abilities? And I never walk around acting like I know everything? She was my teacher, she came to train me. Why did she feel this way? Whatever, it’s done. Once she said they were going to bind my wolf and wipe my memory, I knew I had to get out of here. I closed my eyes and again found the concealing spell. With a little effort, I broke the spell and froze the cuffs. I was pissed with this woman saying she was going to make me a slave.

“DID YOU DO THIS? DID YOU KILL MY MOTHER? WHAT DID YOU DOOO?” he continues crying over her body

“I busted a blood vessel in her brain. She had a quick and easy death. You’re welcome.” I say standing up

Taking advantage of his grief about his mother, I run out of the room. We are in a small cottage. I run out of the cottage and was surrounded by woods. I know his grief will turn to anger soon. I would rather battle him here than put the coven in danger, but I need to let them know I am alright.

“Anthony, Antoine” I link them. We discovered that with our mate bond and my magic we can link over long distances

“DESIREE” I hear them scream through the bond

“Where are you babe?” I hear Antoine

“Are you okay? Did he hurt you?” Anthony questions

“I’m okay. I am going to open a portal real quick because he should be coming for me soon”

I move further into the woods to open the portal, just as I hear Paul scream and run out of the house

“DESIREE!!! I’M GOING TO KILL YOU!” he yells

I walk out of the woods to face him

“You killed my mother Desiree”

“Yes, and as I said before, I made it quick and painless, unlike what you are going to experience. So, you’re welcome” I say with a smirk

“Why are you doing this? I just want to love you” he whines

“You are out of your f*****g mind. You all started this. I warned you that I would kill you if you didn’t let me go, but no, you wanted someone that didn’t belong to you. I don’t want you! You were going to let that man wipe my memories, so I could be your complacent slave and lover. You joined some psycho to control me. You took a chance and lost. Now you suffer. Because me being with you, that is never going to happen!”

“You f*****g b***h. I hate you!” he sneers

He produces energy balls and fires them at me in rapid succession. In his anger he keeps missing. I put up a shield to protect my family from them, they are all now coming up behind me. I feel the twin’s anger and place my hand on their shoulders to calm them. Once he finishes and is on his knees crying, I drop the shield. He jumps up and hits us with a gush of wind that knocks us over. He starts chanting a spell, but I throw an energy ball, then a fireball at him. Hitting him first in the chest, then in the leg. He cries in pain and falls to the ground trying to put out the fire. In a flash, Anthony shifted and jumped on Paul while he is on the ground. Steele slashes and bites at him. Paul tries to fight, but it is pointless, his cries of pain are deafening. After Steele gets his anger out on Paul for taking me, he proceeds to bite down and tear his head from his body.

My mate shifted back, and I conjured some clothes for him. He then walked up to me. I conjured some water and wiped the blood off his face. Then he leans in, I hug and kiss him. Antoine came up behind me and sandwiched me between them. I felt the rage and worry leave their bodies with the hug.

“I’m okay. Nothing happened” I reassured them. I then walked to my Aunt Susan

“His mom’s body is in the house. They planned to give me to The Master. I was going to tell you about him after dinner. He is the warlock that facilitated the kidnapping of my mom and paid Alpha Nicolas to impregnate her” I told her

“Let’s go home” she said, opening a portal

We settled down in the family room. I told them about the rogue attack and meeting my new brother. Zach tells them about his experience with The Master and what happened to him. I told them about my meeting with the Goddesses and what happened in the cottage between Paul, his mother and I. After we were done, we all went to bed. I snuggled in with my mates and drifted off to sleep.
