Chapter 67

Antoine’s POV

Yesterday was a bit overwhelming for Desiree. We left her in bed because she was very tired last night. She met not only her mother but her Vampire stepfather and stepsister yesterday. Who would have guessed that her biological mom was fated to be a Vampire. And that her brother would be mated to her stepsister. We sent out a pack wide message this morning introducing Cora to the pack as Zach’s mate. Desiree took all the new changes in stride. She opened up to Warren and Cora, she brought them into our group like he was always meant to be there. She made them feel welcome when the rest were worried they were going to bite us. She has such a way about her. I know she will be an amazing Luna to our pack.

Anthony and I are in our office. Dad officially handed it over to us last week. Though the official ceremony is not for two more weeks, we have taken over all regular pack and business duties. Dad said he trusts us, and we have been doing it anyone, no need to wait until the ceremony. He is always a call away if we need him, but as far as he is concerned, we are the Alpha’s of The Crescent Lake Pack. He and Mom spend a lot of time at Bloodmoon with Claudia now. Kane is even building a house for them beside the packhouse.

We were working on paperwork and making arrangements for the trip to the dress fitting on Saturday when there is a knock on the door. The design twins, Edith and Edwina enter

“Morning ladies, how can we help you?” Anthony greets them

“Alpha’s, we received the canceled contract and wanted to clarify and question why it was canceled?” Edwina asks

“Desiree has decided to design her office herself. So, we adjusted the payment based off of work already done and provided you with a cancelation fee. Was the amount provided insufficient?” I responded

“No Alpha, the sum was acceptable and quite generous. We thank you, but our business is sustained based on word of mouth. If the Luna was not happy with our work, she would spread that word, and it could mean the end of our business”, Edith said

“I understand but at no point did we express that we or Desiree were unsatisfied with your work. So, there is no complaint to be had, thus no bad word to be spread. So, you have nothing to worry about”, I said

“That’s good to know. Because the last thing we want to do is to upset our Alpha’s” Edwina said

“And Luna” Anthony retorted

“I’m sorry Alpha Anthony. What was that?” she questioned

“The last thing you want to do is upset your Alpha's and Luna. Our decisions are made as a team and Desiree is very much the head of that team along with us. Don’t worry ladies, currently you have not done anything to upset the three of us”

“That’s good to hear. And we thank you for seeing us regarding this matter” Edith said

“Okay, you guys can leave now”, Anthony states.

We see the shock in their faces from being dismissed. We go back to our work, not paying them attention. We only look up when we hear the door close

“You know Desiree was right. Their outfits are a bit inappropriate for work. The thing is I don’t remember them dressing like that before. Do you think we should be worried about Desiree around them?” I ask

“Those girls know if anything happens to Desiree and they are involved, we will end them” Anthony says sternly

“Good thing they are not going with her to the appointment Saturday” I comment

Desiree’s POV

I am in my office just looking around. It was painted yesterday. I painted it a soft cream color. I got a rose gold geometric design wallpaper that was put up this morning. The wallpaper is on the wall behind my desk, around the large windows and behind the built-ins. Tomorrow the built-ins will be installed. All the other furniture and accessories will be here next week. My desk, built-in and open shelves will be black. My desk chair is plush rose gold and the chairs across from my desk are rose gold and black plush, high-back chairs. The nobs on the built-ins are crystals and decorative mirrors, picture frames and curtains are gold. The sofa is rose gold, and the decorative chairs have a geometric pattern of black, cream and rose gold. I found decorative gold pattern recliner chairs and plan to have a small sitting area in the corner. I have pillows that match the geometric pattern. I want to take a trip to get a few knick-knacks after everything is put together. I don’t know if my office is ‘Luna like’ but I like it and can’t wait for it to be finished.

As I was looking around there is a knock on the door

“Can I get an appointment with the Luna in her fancy new office?”

“Leti, you never need an appointment.”

“Good because I plan to be in one of those recliners often” she says smiling

She enters the office followed by Sharon and Paulette. Now that my cousin is here, we have gotten better acquainted. We hung out when I was at the coven for training, but we were focused on school and training then. I show them around and what is still to come. We made plans to go shopping after the ceremony. Patricia and Ian recently moved into a cottage, and she wants to get stuff to decorate too. We probably need to bring Cora also. I know she will want to decorate their cottage also. We haven’t seen her nor Zach since they came home yesterday.

“I love that wallpaper. I think I would like something like that at home” Patricia says

“A good place would be at your entrance. Then put a little table for keys and stuff. A mirror above it sounds cute too”, I suggest

“That’s a great idea. Who needs the design twins” Sharon says

“Let’s not mention those whores” I comment

“Whores? Where did that come from” Leti asks

“I don’t like nor trust those twins. And of course, the twins had s*x with them. They have been flirty with them and condescending to me. Which reminds me; they are the ones that set up the appointment for the dress fitting Saturday. I have a feeling something is going to happen. I need you guys to keep everyone safe, especially with both my moms there” I tell them

“How worried are we?”

“I don’t know, right now, it’s just a feeling Celestia and I have. I can’t stand being around them, so I haven’t read their thoughts. Just be on guard”

We hang out for a bit longer then go to dinner. We are all having conversations and enjoying our meal. Alpha Trevor and Luna Belinda are here this week since we have the fitting on Saturday. Kane doesn’t want Claudia to go to the fitting and this time I agreed because I really think something was going to happen. I spoke to her directly and explained my feelings. She only agreed if she can be at Crescent Lake when we came back. Kane agreed to that much. I spoke to Zach, and he agreed to let me try my dream walking skills on him. Not knowing how it would affect him, we decided to do it at the pack hospital. My brother is so tired, he probably would agree to anything at this point. That conversation was before he met Cora. I had to link him before dinner to see if he was still interested in trying. They have been locked away all day.

We were talking about our plans when Brenda came to the table

“Excuse me Alpha’s but I need to discuss something with you” she says touching Antoine’s shoulder

“Brenda, your need to talk to Alpha Antoine does not require you touching him, so get your hands off my mate” I said without looking up. She removed her hand

“Brenda, is this conversation related to pack business or personal?” Anthony asks

“It is personal but an urgent matter”

“Is it life or death? And does it need to be addressed tonight?”

“No, Luna. It is neither life or death, and it can wait until tomorrow” she replies

“Okay, then, the Alpha’s and I will see you tomorrow in the office at 10am”

“No disrespect, Luna, but….” She starts.

“Brenda, anything you say further will be seen as disrespectful and punishment will be given. Now our Luna has said we will see you tomorrow at 10am. Think very carefully about if you want to continue this current course of action”, Antoine says

She stands there waiting for someone else to speak. She kept looking back and forth to Antoine and Anthony. When they didn’t say anything else, she walked away in a huff. We all completed our dinner. We are all walking to the hospital so I can dream walk into Zach’s nightmares tonight. We pass one of the warriors who stops the twins to discuss something. Anthony’s phone rings and he passes it to me

“Alpha An…..” I start

“What the f**k is this about you getting married? I am to be your Luna, not some wolf less b***h. This was discussed years ago and the two of you and your father agreed. So, tell me WHY THE f**k DO I HAVE AN INVITATION TO ALPHA/LUNA CEREMONY AND WEDDING? HUH? WHY?” she yells. I have now put the phone on speaker and the twins are listening

“You have an invitation because Anthony and Antoine found their fated mate, they marked and mated her. Then they asked her to marry them, and she said yes. So, she will be their mate, wife, Luna, and one day the mother of their children. Isn’t it romantic? If you tell me who you are I will rescind the invitation, since it has upset you so much” I reply

“Who the f**k is this and why are you answering your Alpha’s phone? That is disrespectful and I will have you punished. Do you know who I am?”

“No, I don’t know who you are. That is why I asked who you were the first time, but you didn’t tell me. Again, you seem very upset and……” I say in a condescending tone

“WHO THE f**k ARE YOU? I WILL HAVE YOU KILLED!! MY FATHER IS ALPHA KIRK OF THE FIRE RING PACK. I DON’T KNOW WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE BUT I WILL DEAL WITH YOU WHEN I COME STOP THIS CEREMONY”

“Okay, now that I know who you are we can proceed with this conversation. Hello Brigette Dash, daughter of Alpha Kirk and Luna Lani Dash, sister to future Alpha Bruce Dash. Congratulations, your birthday was last week. The car your father bought you was very nice; you must really like pink to drive a pink car” I say

“Who are you and why do you know so much about me?” she questions

“It is a Luna’s job to know about other packs. I am Desiree and I am the fated mate of Anthony and Antoine. I am the wolf less b***h who will be marrying them and becoming their Luna next week. That is why I am answering his phone. You….” I respond but she cuts me off

“How dare you! I…..” she starts but I stop her

“Don’t you f*****g cut me off. I listened to you yell and scream enough tonight. Now you will not be messing up my ceremony, so if you have something to say I will entertain you the day before. Now I am going to go f**k my mates. Good night, Brigette” I hung up to her screaming

“Care to tell me what that is about” I ask the twins

“No clue. We haven’t seen Brigette in years. We didn’t have s*x with her or anything. I have no idea what agreement she is talking about” Anthony says

“I do think we need to talk to Dad about this though. For her to mention something like this is concerning” Antoine says

“Well, I’m going to the hospital to see Zach. Do you want to go talk to your dad now?”

“No, this is the first time you will dream walk. I want us there with you. We don’t know what will happen. We will talk to Dad tomorrow” Antoine replies
