Chapter 57

Antoine’s POV

This has been a wonderful day, except Sadie challenging Desiree. She’s an Alpha’s daughter who does nothing but party. She may have learned basic self-defense, but I don’t know what made her think she could win a formal challenge.

“She thought Desiree was weak” Granite growls

“They all think she is weak because we hide Celestia’s scent, but even without Celestia, Desiree is a kick-ass female and amazing fighter” I respond to him

“My mate is awesome” he says with pride, puffing up his chest

“Our mate” I say

“You just better stop f*****g up because if you make her cry or upset her again, I will kill you myself” he growls

“I don’t think you can kill me, but I understand”

“I can’t wait to see Celestia” he prances around in my head

“Slow down, you are giving me a headache”

“No”

“Talking to Granite, bro?” Anthony asks

“Yeah, he can’t wait to be with Celestia later. He also threatened to kill me if I mess up with her again”

“Steel too. He’s been giving me a headache since the challenge. Telling me how wonderful Desiree and Celestia are, and not to f**k it up. I guess we both have been warned” Anthony says

“I think we need to call and speak to the guys about what their sisters did. I don’t want to lose friends and alliances because of their crushes” I say

“I called their fathers before the challenge”, Anthony replies

“Yes, but their brothers are our friends. We should make sure we are all still good. We know we handled things properly from the Alpha and pack perspective, but I want to touch base with our friends”, I explain

We link Desiree to tell her where we are going. She decides to come with us. We head to the office along with Wesley, Leticia, Sharon and David. They also feel a conversation is needed to make sure our friendship is not affected by what happened. We were able to get everyone on a video call

“If it isn’t the Twin Terrors of Crescent Lake”, Alpha Raul says as soon as we are all on the call

“And who are those beautiful women? Hi ladies”, Alpha Patrick greets, but his greeting is answered with four growls

“Don’t start Patrick”, Anthony growls

“Let me introduce everybody. Guys, this is Desiree. She is our fated mate and future Luna, this is Leticia, and she is Wesley’s mate. This is Sharon and she is David’s mate. Ladies, these are our good friends. The guy on the top right of the screen is Alpha Patrick of The Sharp Claw pack. He is Terrie’s brother and a terrible flirt. The guys on the left side are Alpha Saul, who is Sadie’s twin brother, and Eric. He is the Beta and Elizabeth’s older brother. They are from the Bright Moon pack”

We all yell hello to each other

“Since we are introducing people. There are two people we would like you guys to meet” Eric says, and two women enter the office

“This is…..” Alpha Saul starts

“Ebony and Evie! Oh, my goddess! HI!!!” Desiree yells

“Desi, Leti, Sharon!! Hi cousins. What’s going on? Where are you?” Evie yells getting close to the camera

“You guys know each other, I see” Alpha Saul says with a grin

“Yeah, we met in New Orleans a few years ago. We haven’t seen each other in over a year because we were sent to Canada to our Uncle’s Hide” Ebony replies

“Well guys, this is Ebony. She is my mate and future Luna. This is Evie, her cousin and Eric’s mate”

“What a coincidence. You guys must come visit soon. It’s been way too long since we have seen each other” Desiree suggests

“Absolutely, are these your mates?” Ebony asks

“Yes, this is David, he’s Sharon’s mate. This is Wesley, he’s Leticia’s mate. And this is Anthony and Antoine, mates”

“Two mates Desi? You go girl!! We for sure have to get together” she smiles

“And ladies, that man on the other screen is Alpha Patrick of the Sharp Claw pack, another good friend of ours”

“I’m glad we all got to meet each other, but the reason for the call was to discuss; Sadie, Terri and Liz. I don’t know if your father’s told you, but they came to our pack this week. They basically told the girls they were here to take us from them. Earlier today, Sadie invoked a formal challenge to Desiree, and it didn’t go well. They should all be home soon. We wanted to make sure everything was still; we know they are your sisters, and we didn’t want bad blood between us” I say

“Dad told us about Sadie and Desiree. I thank you for not killing my sister. We are aware. Eric and I have discussed the situation and there’s no bad blood here. They are the ones I am upset with. Their behavior was unacceptable for an Alpha and Beta’s daughter” Saul says

“Same here, guys. I do appreciate you reaching out. I would hate it if my sister’s actions would negatively affect our friendship or alliance. We are good on this end” Patrick says

“I’m glad to hear that. We have been friends for too long. For now, we ask that your sisters not come to our pack though. We don’t want to put our mates in any type of uncomfortable situation” Anthony says

“Understood” all men agreed

We talked for a bit more and made plans to get together soon. We realized the sun was setting and needed to get back outside.

Desiree’s POV

As the sun sets, and the moon starts to rise, I get nervous. This will be the first time the pack will see Celestia. I am not worried about our ability to take care of or protect ourselves, but I want the pack to accept me as the Luna. I am not what everyone thinks I should be. I guess we will see. I go change my clothes to a simple white dress that I don’t mind tearing up when I shift. Others have gone back home, put the younger kids to bed and changed their clothes. All adult pack members are now present for the pack run.

“Welcome Crescent Lake pack to our pack run to welcome our future ranked members. I hope everyone had fun and enjoyed the festivities planned by your future Luna, Beta female and Gamma female. I, for one, felt this was an amazing idea and I hope we do it again. Now I call to the front of the stage Gamma David, Gamma female Sharon, Beta Wesley, Beta female Leticia, Alpha Anthony, Alpha Antoine and Luna Desiree.” Alpha Trevor says to the crowd

We all step-in front of the stage. The guy’s shift, showing the pack their wolves. Sharon and Leticia get on Astro and Colt’s backs. I greet Granite and Stone, rubbing my hand in through their fur and letting them sniff me. I know the crowd expects me to climb on one of their backs, but I step forward and shift into Celestia. She goes to Stone and Granite and rubs herself on them. The crowd gasps and comments are heard about me being a white wolf. After everyone gets over the surprise of the evening, they begin to cheer and howl. I guess we have been accepted. Celestia and I smile and take off after our mates. The rest of the pack shifts, and we all run with Stone and Granite taking the lead. After a while, the pack members break off and go to do their own thing. I see Astro and Sharon go one way with Colt and Leticia going another way. I follow my mates, and we went to the lake. There our wolves play, hunt and run. I go in the back of Celestia's mind to give them privacy. She already told me they also mate and mark each other. Four hours later, she gives me back control. We shift back, and I conjure clothes for us, we stroll back to the packhouse hand-in-hand and go to bed. I have to say, at the end of the day, this was an amazing day.
