This is the first time I've ever met the Elders although I always see them around before but there was no reason for an omega to seek their assistance. They're highly respected among pack members for their wisdom, and is always after the pack's best interest. They're also the only members in a democratic wolf pack who can vote an Alpha out if they or majority of the members are not satisfied under an Alpha's leadership. They also have to be consulted for delicate matters or decisions of an Alpha -especially if it concerns the safety of the whole pack -such as, engaging on a war. In Idris' case, since he's a novice and he had been gone a long time, I presume they find his leadership is not ripe yet.
