“How do you feel?” Leo asked as he removed both his hands from the boy.
Adam blinked and took inventory of his physical wounds. He pressed a hand to his ribs. “Better. The pain is gone.”
Sebastian sighed. He didn’t have the ability to heal, but knew Leo would help Adam. It was difficult to feel another’s physical discomfort and be unable to ease it.
Leo nodded, satisfied. “Sebastian,” he said, stepping away from Adam, “I believe the room next to yours is vacant. It’s small but will work for your trainee. Gather what you need from the storage rooms.”
He walked to where the coin pouches piled on the floor. Yes, he thought, Sebastian was right to bring Adam to the tunnels. “Take Adam and get him settled. Tess will stay with me and share what she knows from her travels.”
