Three male voices, raised in excitement, reached Sebastian before his feet carried him into Leo’s lair. When he paused in the arched doorway, he felt his shoulders tense, his hand going automatically to the weapon holstered at his side. A quick glance from Leo and a slight shake of his head stilled Sebastian’s hand, but he didn’t remove it from the weapon.
“I understand your concern. I’ll see to the supply issue immediately. Sebastian,” Leo said, giving him permission to enter, “these travelers from Boston arrived ahead of a dozen others coming this way. All enhanced. They seek refuge for themselves, and the ones who follow. They passed several highwaymen but didn’t engage.”
