RaffaellaMy next visit was to see Raffaella Grana in Radda. As Cosco suggested, I avoided the customary self-introduction when inquiring as to the Grana residence and was rewarded with helpful information. The piazza was as busy as others I had encountered in Italy, even though it was a relatively small town. But the main piazza of every town was usually the center of activity for the community. Often, there would be a finely sculpted fountain recalling the glory days of Medieval Europe, and cobblestone or large quarry-stone steps leading up to it. It was about midday when I arrived, and there were crowds at almost every doorstep, people chattering about the events of the day or the prospects of the local soccer team in the upcoming championship.
