One day, as they served food at a local shelter, ROZIE noticed a familiar face among the volunteers — it was DAN’s childhood friend, David, who had also faced adversity. “I’m so glad to see you here, David,” ROZIE said, wrapping her arms around him.
“Good to see you too, ROZIE! DAN and I go way back,” David replied, his face lighting up with a smile. “I admire what you both are doing. It’s important to help others.”
ROZIE felt a surge of warmth at David’s words. “Thank you. It’s something we’re passionate about. We want to use our experiences to uplift those around us.”
That evening, as they drove home, ROZIE reflected on their day. “It’s fulfilling to be able to help others, don’t you think?” she asked DAN.

One sunny afternoon, as they strolled through the park, ROZIE noticed something different about DAN. He seemed more excited than usual, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “What’s going on with you today?” she asked, curiosity piquing.
“Just a little surprise I’ve been working on,” he replied, his grin widening.
As they reached a quiet spot by the lake, DAN stopped, turning to face her. “I wanted to share something important. I’ve been thinking about how far we’ve come and the future we’ve built together.”
ROZIE’s heart raced. “What do you mean?”
“I’ve decided to start a foundation focused on helping underprivileged youth pursue their dreams, just like we did,” he said, his voice filled with passion. “I want to give back in a meaningful way.”
Tears filled ROZIE’s eyes as she grasped the depth of his commitment. “That’s incredible, DAN! I’m so proud of you!”
“Would you join me in this journey? I can’t do it without you,” he asked, his eyes searching hers.
“Absolutely! Together, we can make a difference,” she replied, her heart soaring with excitement.
