Austin won’t be able to get to you there.” I wet my lips, seriously considering taking that offer, but something within me stops me, “No. No, I got this.” Two more months, and I’m out of here. “I’ll deal with this.” I smile weakly at Loyd. “Don’t worry.” He looks reluctant, but then says, “I know you have my number, but this is a second one.” He hands me a card. “Call me day or night if you need help.” His kindness takes me aback, and I hold the card close to me. “Thank you.” I watch him leave reluctantly, and then I rub my hands over my face.
