“Excuse me what??” My father had to be joking. “Now you’re just making s**t up.” I told him, growing more furious with each passing second.
“Maggie, I’m sorry. It’s true.” He sighed. I could hear my mom crying softly in the background. I remained silent, not knowing what the hell I was supposed to say after such a revelation. I closed my eyes, reminding myself to breathe. Dominic was rubbing my back gently, doing his best to calm me through our bond. I turned to look at him, but his eyes were clouded over. He was no doubt linking his parents about this sudden turn of events. I turned back to my phone.
