I put the finishing touches on the little table in the living room of our suite and stepped back to look at it one more time, making sure everything was perfect. Luna Marie had been teary-eyed when I told her what I wanted to do and embraced me warmly, telling me that my heart was what was going to make me a perfect Luna. I wasn’t sure about all that, but I didn’t argue. She left to get the pups and have them come home. I hoped Beta Lance hadn’t been too hard on them with their punishment.
Tired of waiting, I hurried downstairs to greet DJ and Lili, but they hadn’t yet arrived. I saw the Beta coming from the direction of the kitchen with a sandwich in his hand.
