I did not speak a single word when Jamie announced that Eden will be used in the ruse. I possess far too much dignity to engage in a fit of screaming in front of people I barely know, especially when so many of those people are of High rank.
As I prepare myself for bed, however, I am restless. Jamie left with little more than a good-night. As much as I want to talk with him, I am certain I can’t sway him from his decision. I’ve used my wiles on him once. The delicate balance of our relationship would topple over if I sought to seduce him into giving me what I want.
