*Eden* As the carriage rattles to a stop, a Servant standing in the drive opens the door and assists me out. Jamie quickly follows, puts his hand beneath my elbow, and escorts me toward the grand residence. Carriages are dropping off other couples, and they are strolling more quickly toward the open doors. But I want to take my time, to absorb every facet of the night. “It’s almost like a palace, isn’t it?” I whisper. “A little too large for my tastes,” Jamie says.
