David stayed in the back bedroom most of the day. He did not step outside. Xavier came in with fresh news. More planted evidence had appeared inside the FBI. The new files made David look like a person of interest. Some agents now wanted to bring him in for questioning.
“You need to go deeper underground,” Xavier said. “Stay completely inside the house. Do not go near any windows during the day. Riley and I will cover for you in the meetings. We will say you are handling personal matters out of town.”
