David walked into the small office at the back of Lena’s apartment. Lena sat at her desk with the laptop open. The screen showed the message from Vargas. David closed the door behind him and stood in front of her. “What is this?” he asked. Lena looked up at him. Her eyes were tired but steady. “It is a deal. Vargas wants me to work for him again. He says he will pay me more than before if I give him information about you.” David did not move. “Tell me the truth. Were you working for Aragua all along?” Lena took a deep breath. “Yes. I was.
