The reception area of the Law Offices of Buddy Quinn reminded me of a doctor"s office. Solemn, but not depressing. Bright, but not glaring. The door was heavy, probably oak, and painted the same almost-white color of the walls. Directly through the door, a receptionist kept watch from a small window. On the wall opposite the leather sofa on which I was told to wait, there was a set of shelves filled with Reader"s Digest condensed books, a statue or two, and potted ivy that spilled over the top of the shelves and hung almost to the floor. On the two walls on either side of the door hung at least twenty pictures of billboards. Some were orange and yellow and red. Others gleamed with the warm colors of autumn.
