Chapter 10 SAVED

I ran into the bush and looked around but saw no one. 'This is it Peggy, this is your chance to escape', I said to myself. I immediately bent down and took of my shoes so that I would be able to run.

"Going somewhere?", I heard a female voice asked from behind. I pursed and turned back. A lady putting on green top and pants came out from the bushes with a gun pointed in the direction of my forehead.

I swallowed hard." Who who who are y yo you?", I asked stammeringly. " Who I am is not your business. Didn't you learn your lesson after you ran away the first time? Aren't you scared of death? ", she asked while coming closer to me.

Scared of death? That's the same reason I want to run away. I'm literally scared of death. " please let me go, I've served Angela obediently for a month now. I want to be free I don't want to do this anymore ", I pleaded. "Tell that to her ", the lady said." Try to run and I will break those legs of yours. Now go back to the car", she said.

I obeyed and went back to the car with my shoes in my hands as the lady followed me with the gun still pointed at me. Thomas saw me and smirked. "Get in you liar", he said. I entered the car in he drove me to Mr Donald's house.

The next day, Thomas drove me back. I was scared,what if Angela has been told about what happened yesterday? Then I'd be in serious trouble. 'Oh God save me', I prayed inwardly. When I got to my room, Angela was seated and smoking,probably waiting for me.

" Remember what I told you a month ago?", she asked while starring at her fingers. I was quiet,I could hear my heart beating faster. "Are you deaf?", she shouted at me." I want my freedom,let me go I've served you enough! ", I shouted back at her. " Oh I can see you've grown wings. You see,I never trusted you,so I always had people follow you without your knowledge. You thought I was stupid enough to always have leave here without being followed that was why you tried to escape yesterday. Am I right? ", she asked.

I was quiet, yeah she was right. How could I have not known that I was always being followed.

"Guards!", she shouted and Five men including Thomas walked in. " Take off her clothes and whip her", she ordered them. " no no no Angela please spare Me", I pleaded but Angela didn't listen. I was whipped ten lashes of the cane with just my undies on. I felt like I was going to die from the pain. Wasn't I better off dead than living like this?

" Next time,you won't even dream of escaping again", Angela said." Just kill me let me die Cause if you don't I will kill you myself!", I said to Angela. Angela laughed loud and walked up to me. She slapped me twice and I spat on her.

Out of anger, she took the cane and whipped me on my injured back. The pain was unbearable and I cried out. "Do to her as it pleases you guys", she said and left. Immediately the men happily tore off my bra and panties and took turns raping me. I started bleeding from my nose and mouth, I thought that was going to be last and then I couldn't remember anything.

I woke up and found myself in an empty building. I stood up but felt pains in my body. I remembered what happened and was surprised I was still alive. "You're awake", I heard a female voice say. It was doctor Beryl. She was one of Angela's accomplices and the syndicate's doctor. A young unfamiliar man was sitting beside her." You really are a brave person. No one has tried escaping the second time not after what Angela did to them the first time", Beryl said.

I didn't say anything, I just looked down feeling disappointed that my plans to escape was futile. "You don't have to feel sad Peggy you are free now", Beryl said. I was confused, what did she mean by I am free now? As if she heard my thoughts, she said; "Angela and the others think you are dead so they dumped and I went to save you", Beryl said.

" I don't understand", I said.Beryl sighed."you were almost dead when Angela's men stopped what they were doing to you and told Angela. Angela was scared of losing you because she had earned more than she use to get through you so she called for me. I lied that you were dead and she believed me because I have never lied to her before so she asked her men to dump your body and I called him and we saved you", she said.

"Why did you save me?", I asked. Was it possible that they saved me with no intentions."Do you want to be free or not?", she asked back. I nodded." Good. That's all I want to know", she said. " There are people I will introduce you to, trust me they are nice people and they will change your life for good", she said.

I was skeptical. She was an accomplice of Angela, did she really have no ill intensions?
