Ivor was contemplating whether to go in when the door suddenly opened.
Cassia stood at the door, staring at Ivor, who was blocking the entrance. "What are you up to?"
"Have you reviewed the project I sent you?"
Ivor awkwardly turned his head away, avoiding eye contact with Cassia.
Cassia nodded. "Yes, I have. May is already handling it. Once I'm discharged, I'll..."
"There's no rush. John will help May," Ivor said expressionlessly, his eyes shifting from her face to her legs. Are you feeling any better?"
"Much better."
Initially, Cassia didn't want to engage with Ivor, but she softened when she recalled the nurse's words.
"What are you up to?"
Another stretch of silence ensued, which Ivor eventually broke.
"Going for a check-up."
