Caution : New words ahead. Look at the end of the chapter for meanings. And also the book is unedited. ——— Sunlight occasionally peek from its position behind the clouds as balmy wind blow steadily and calmly, causing the motionless trees to rustle in their wake ever so slightly. Sounds of muddy soil, leaves and stones crunching beneath my boots lastly come to a halt as I let my body lean against the nearby tree in exhaustion. Taking a deep breath, I inhale the lungful of fresh oxygen surrounding the environment, smelling the aroma of the damp forest due to the rain last night. Closing my eyes, I recall the discreet words of Høè Kzar which he told me after the yesterday's meeting ended. "Weroance, you do know that in some aspect Ruffis was right, that just speaking such words won't get you the throne, don't you?" He inquires authoritatively. "Yes, I know." Staring at me intently for a few seconds, he finally admits, "Honestly, I'm in agreement with your theory. Your plans on bringing a change is not at all wrong, but you should be aware of the fact that people believe in practical reasoning and not just some superficial words. Since you are the first one to have such plans of bringing a change, they'll be even more resolute towards you." His words carry tremendous amount of weight. He is right. But he isn't telling me something I don't already know. Instead, I am well aware of what he has spoken just now. I knew it from the start. I knew it'll be no easy feat, rather it'll be a long road ahead for me to walk onto before I'll reach to any sort of conclusion. "Then what is it you think I should be doing?" I ask inquisitively, wanting to know his thoughts while nodding my head in agreement with his previous words. Looking directly at me, his mouth open and out come the words so compelling that I know is not just an idea for me to gain the trust of the Veřs, but also the last challenge he's putting forward to test me. "You want the throne, Weroance? Then it's simple, prove your worth!" Prove your worth. That's what I have to do. That's what I'm doin— "Falveñ!" My eyes briskly shoot open upon hearing the sound of my title as the Kzar heir and I immediately glance over to notice an anxious Edsel rushing towards me in hurried footsteps and following him are the group of nine other wolves who went in the West alongside him on my order, yet now carrying the expression similar to the one of Edsel. An ominous feeling rapidly sinks down to settle in my gut. Moving away from my earlier leaning position on the tree, I quickly straighten up and without waiting for him to reach me, I mind-link him. What happened? However, his mind seemingly doesn't register my command as he looks too unsettled at the moment to focus on the link. Striding forward I meet him halfway and as soon as that happens, his lips swiftly open up and he blurts out. "You gotta see this!" His heaving shoulders and troubled aura coupled with the others instantaneously compell me to follow his lead at once. "What's the matter? What did you find?" I probe as I try to push down my rapid emotions brimming inside me. "There is—There—s**t! You have to see this with your own eyes!" His continuous shake of head as his eyes shift furtively from human to Wolf tells me there's definitely something very, very wrong. Although I can understand his condition, his stupid behavior is making Olin anxious. I can feel it. "Falveñ, It's indescribable, you have to see it with your own eyes. Please!" Brice, one of the nine wolves speaks hastily in a frantic tone with unhidden fear splattered all over his face. Shit. Sensing his apprehension, I tightly clench my teeth, forcefully suppressing Olin before he loses his s**t and snaps. "Alpha's informed?" Bypassing them, I school my expression with utter calmness as I stride ahead while interrogating as they follow. "Yes, Falveñ!" Edsel's tension-filled voice answers from behind. "Tavius and Ree?" Picking up my pace, I inquire further. "No." Running up beside me, he shakes his head. His eyes shift from side to side constantly while sweating buckets, it's like his mind is not even here. Pivoting my head, I order, "Everyone turn towards the West, and mind-link Tavius and others to do the same!" With that, I turn forward and hastily march towards the said direction with the rest. Eleven hours. After eleven whole hours of searching and digging and turning every rock and stone, we've finally got something. Since yesterday's meeting with the Høè Kzar, I knew the eons of peace we were living in is now finally going to demolish and things will never be the same. I admit I want to bring changes in the system but never thought that an unimaginable burden is also going to add itself to the list to which I have a feeling that it's most definitely going to commence a war. Dëmūns Veř After the legendary war between the Dëmūns Veř and the Eneii following with the Dëmūns Veř being defeated in the end, it was believed that from there onwards they were all thrown in the deepest pits of Zhadeû and were then abolished from stepping a foot in any of the Eneo. Subsequently, to further ensure that their seditious existence do not get even the slightest chance for a sneak and attack, the Eneo wa Quãvi chained down the confines of Zhadeû in their inviolable enchantments and outlined the borders of each Eneo with spiritual incantations. However now...  From the past few weeks, there have been mysterious attacks transpiring across the different Kingdoms of Eneo wa Asle. Hundreds of Veř have gone missing. Seemingly, everyone believed that it must have been some sort of conspiracy by the Eneo wa Izul as their Høè Kzarina is in some sort of tussle with our Høè Kzar—until now. My hastening boots come to a sudden stop upon the sight present before me. Our people from the pack, enforcers, investigators, warriors and even the overseers. Everyone involve in the investigation of the recent attacks happening in the Weroance Kingdoms are hording the place in both human and Wolf forms. They seem to be looking at something. I feel strange. I frown at my emotions as I don't know whether it's my feelings or Olin's. There must be something in the air. At the change of the atmosphere due to my sudden presence, one by one the pack members nearest to me abruptly turn and thereafter call out my title in respect. Lifting my booted foot, I walk forward and the crowd quickly parts to make way as Edsel and the others move in tow. I can feel my father's and sister's presence as I continue to walk ahead.  So they are already here...  Skimming my eyes across numerous heads, I ensuingly catch the familiar ginger curls in the midst of the crowd and boldly call out. "Tavius!" His head snaps towards me along with the others and he immediately dashes towards me. "Falveñ!" "Falveñ!" Several voices call out in unison, including his, and now everyone becomes aware of my presence at the moment. "It's bad." That's the first thing that comes out of his mouth upon reaching me. His usual charming face which provides constant entertainment to others is now filled with tension and disbelief. His Wolf must be feeling anxious too. It feels like something is about to happen. After holding his gaze for a second, I turn forward and this time march directly towards the front with a determined will. The crowd continue to make way and I can eventually make out the heads of my father and my sister on his right while on his left is Gephil, his Beta and beside him stands Dequin, the Head Investigator. Let's see what's all the fuss is about. I tell Olin jokingly, trying to calm him down even though I know he won't respond to me. Due to my height I catch the sight of another familiar figure as I get nearer and nearer, however, he was standing a little ahead from my father and the others. What the hell is going on, dammit!? When I am just a few steps behind them, a sudden whisk of breeze comes out of nowhere and unavoidably whips me in the face causing my frantic feet to come to an abrupt screeching halt as I hear an echo. An echo I never thought I'd hear. Never thought I'd hear the word. The word after two excruciatingly painful years. Due to which both me and my Wolf after so long finally, finally come to an agreement upon. Mate! ——— Meanings Veř - Creatures Falveñ - A title for Kzar Heir.
