The mutated Beta-like creatures had followed her scent all the way here, to where she was hiding. In a crack in the solid rock side of a small mountain. Somehow, they can trace a scent miles away, it was something that was not mentioned in the reports. However, they do not stand up to an alpha’s strength. After grappling with the first one to arrive and throwing him into the rocks' ridged surface, the next few creatures arrived howling. I am not too sure how these things travel, but it seems like pack traveling is an option.
