In John's home
He took off his coat and was about to climb the stairs, but something on the cough caught his attention.
He slowly went near that cough and got confused about what he saw.
"Maddy?" He called her name in confusion. He didn't get any reply from another side, but he could hear some weak sobbings only.
"Princess, what happened?" He occupied the empty place near her and took the tiny Maddy into his embrace like a father.
She didn't stop her crying or didn't reply. She was just sobbing but a little more now.
He didn't know how to console his only sister because it was the first time he saw her break down badly. She was never a cry baby. She hated to cry and make herself look weak in front of others.
"All will be okay, princess," he said and slowly touched her head.
He was confused about her behavior.
"Something should have happened, but what's that?" He thought.
After about thirty minutes,
He felt like she had fallen asleep in his chest. He took her to her bedroom and made her lie on her bed.
He too occupied the sofa and closed his eyes.
In the morning
Maddy opened her eyes slowly and realizes that she was on her bed. She tried to recall how she ended up in her bed and realized that her brother had taken her heart.
"John, you care for everyone, but you are afraid to show that to others. You are afraid to get hurt," a smile crept to her lips when she thought about her crazy brother.
It disappeared instantly when she thought about another person.
"Mark, ..... When will you listen to me? I didn't send those photos or any messages. But I don't know who sent it to your number" Her eyes fixed on the wall randomly and she felt tired of her thoughts.
"Good morning," his gaze was broken by a voice.
"Roy? What are you doing here? Don't you have work at the company?" She asked the person.
"I do, but my boss has given me more important work than the company. He asked me to make sure you had your breakfast. otherwise, I won't get my salary," he said and rolled his eyes dramatically.
"John said that?" She asked and looked at the food tray.
"Yeah, he is not old John who has a blank face always. Now he has changed a lot. Don't you know?" He asked.
"Why what happened suddenly?" She asked him eagerly.
"Guess what?" He paused for a moment.
"I'd be in love? Is it my best friend?" She asked him.
"Who is your best friend?" Roy thought for a moment and continued, " you mean Kristi? Never, your friend never has a chance".
"Then who? " she asked him.
"It's.... You must ask John. He will kill me if I told you," Roy said.
"Please my dear brother, tell me now. I can't control my curiosity more" she said and pretended to cry.
"Her name is J" his phone interrupted their conversation.
"Oh my God, I forgot the meeting. Please finish the whole food," he escaped wisely before she catches him.
"I will find out myself," she said and grinned evilly.
In Judy's office
She was barely concentrating on the file as she was thinking about Mark.
Mark didn't come home last night. He was not at home until Judy left for the office.
Even though Judy felt something fishy, she didn't think too much about it.
"Judy, there is a meeting in thirty minutes. We have to prepare a document about the xyz project," Michael said and gasped heavily.
"Haha, what did you say? Sorry, I was thinking about something," Judy said.
"Something or someone?" Michal tried to tease her.
"Oh Michaell, I'm not in a mood to joke. Tell me quickly what your problem is?" She said and closed the files.
"Okay okay," she repeated her words.
"How is that possible? Nobody informed us about the meeting," she said.
"I too agree with you. it's not fair for us. But the new managing director is very adamant. She seems to be close to our pResident. So we Have no choice, but to agree to do it," Michal said.
"Let's see what can we do. If we start the work, we can surely finish within time," Judy said confidently.
"Okay, if you say so. I will help you to get some old files," Micha said and went to fetch those for Judy.
After the minutes, they finished their work and went to the conference room.
"Thank God, no one is here, we can arrange everything before anyone comes here," Judy thought and started to arrange the files.
"How dare you enter without my permission?" She jumped a little bit as she was startled by the sudden attack. She sighed and looked in the direction of the voice.
"Who is that?" She thought and focused on the chair. She couldn't see any trace of a person as it was facing the opposite side of her.
"I hope it's not a ghost," Judy thought and closed her eyes.
She went to the front and saw a girl sitting in the president's chair.
"Who is she?" She thought and reminded Michal's words to herself.
"I too agree with you. it's not fair for us. But the new managing director is very adamant. She seems to be close to our pResident. So we Have no choice, but to agree to do it,"
"His girlfriend?" She thought.
It's Kristi, Maddy's best friend. She quickly recognized Judy from the photo.
"So it's you who is trying to seduce John. How are you better than me?" She thought in her mind and tried to take a glimpse from head to toe.
"She doesn't have a proper fashion sense. She is just an employee. She won't be a threat," Kristi tried to console herself.
"Why are you standing still? Can't you hear properly? Are you deaf?" She was continuously scolding Judy.
"Sorry for my mistake, madam. How may I help you?" Did she ask politely?
"I want a cup of coffee now," Kristi said.
"Okay, madam. I will ask someone to bring it for you," she said politely again.
"I want you to bring it for me," Kristi said in an adamant tone.
"Don't worry madam, I can make a good coffee," Michal tried to bail Judy and was about to leave.
"What's happening here?" They heard a dominating but magnet voice.
"Good morning president," both Judy and Michal said at the same time.
Roy followed him into the room and asked, "Is everything ready for the meeting?"
"Yes, Mr. Roy," Judy said.
"What are you doing here?" John looked at the unexpected visitor and asked in a cold tone.
"Surprise, I know you will get surprised when you see me. How is it? Do you like my surprise?" Kristi asked happily and curiously.
"Why are you here? I won't repeat my question," John said in a more stiff voice.
"I'm the new managing director of XYZ company. I have decided to help my father in his business as I'm his only child," Kristi said.
"Mr. President, shall we start the meeting?" Roy asked John and tried to reduce the tension.
John just went to a chair randomly and occupied it.
"John," Kristi called him and was about to ask him something, but she stopped it when she felt his cold gaze on her.
"I mean Mr. Brand, why are you sitting there? Please take your seat," she said and got up from the chair.
"It's okay, Miss Kristi. He is okay with that chair," Roy said.
"I don't like to sit in a chair someone has already occupied. Roy, remove that chair after the meeting was over," John said.
His words made Kristi more uncomfortable.
Judy also felt the awareness and said, "Mr. President do you like to have some coffee?"
John was surprised as she never asked him.
