"She just challenged me? When did she get so bold? When did I get so soft? How could a mere woman dare challenge my authority? I clothe and feed her, and I pay her. Why would she confront me like this? I really hope she keeps running because if I ever see her again, she will die by my hands. Such an ungrateful silly woman," Randy laments in his office.

"Did Chris really walk out on us? Ed, do you see what I told you about the liberties we give Chris? He should know his obligations to us. We need a new Alpha, and I am tired of being patient with him. I have been a good stepmother, thinking not only for Oliver. He has been adamant about finding love since Marina passed away. It is high time he moves on. He can't keep wallowing in self-pity," Lauren shares her concern irritably with Ed.
"I know Chris, and believe me when I say he will come to his senses. He might not know the gravity of the situation, but I am sure the ultimatum will make him take his search for a bride seriously. My darling wife, everything will go as planned," Ed assures Rose while caressing her shoulder.
"Mandy, I need you to relax. I can assure you that Chris will have no other choice but you. He doesn't know any other potential brides that I or his father would approve of. He is yours," Mrs. Tucker says to Mandy.
"Thank you, Mrs. Tucker. I promise to be a dutiful Luna to the Tucker Pack," Mandy says with renewed confidence.
"Thank you, Mandy. Extend my greetings to the Rhodes Pack."

*Chris's*
Suddenly, my rage disappears as I quickly get out of the car to see how much damage I might have done to my unfortunate victim. I realize that it is a woman as her outfit suggests, and I begin to panic once more.
I take a deep breath as I approach her figure and feel for her pulse. I realize she is still alive but in critical condition. I lift her immediately, doing everything I possibly can to get her to my family doctor.
When I get to the hospital, a ward has been prepared, and the examination begins. I am informed that she sustained some external injuries and specifically a bruise to her ribs. I tell them to do everything they can to make sure she survives, as I remember I have
other things to settle tonight.
Two weeks later...
"I really think we should go unwind at that restaurant later in the day. I am already salivating just thinking about their chicken stew," says Chris.
"I knew you would be sold on that. We can do 8pm, but for now, let us focus on the task at hand," Reginald responds with a smirk.
...............
Chris hears his phone ring long after Reginald leaves. It's Doctor Paige, calling to inform him that the patient is ready to be discharged. He tells her he will be there later at night, and the call ends. He still can't believe he forgot about my almost killing someone in an accident. He decides to go there after his nice Chicken Stew dinner.

CHRIS
It is 8 pm, and he finally gets off work. He is headed to the restaurant when Reginald calls to inform him that he is almost there. He arrives and sees Reginald waiting in the driveway. He parks his car, and they walk into Randy's diner together.
This time, the service is different. It's not the same girl as the other day. This one seems new and uptight. He really appreciates good energy where he eats. He signals for her to call the owner. He arrives at his table, and he share his observations with him.
He tells him that the girl he speaks of no longer works for him and that she disappeared two weeks ago without a trace. He can see that he is struggling to keep his cool, and he wonders what must have happened between them.
He hear his tummy rumble, and he is reminded of his chicken stew. He immediately requests for it to be brought to me. He exchanges some pleasantries that he barely acknowledges with a nod.
As soon as they are done with dinner, Chris remembers he has to go to the hospital. He tells Reginald that he has to leave and then goes. He arrives in a few minutes and goes to Doctor Paige's office. She takes him to meet the victim, and as soon as she sees his face, the expression on her face makes him remember. She is the waitress from Randy's diner, the one he was just concerned about. He is the reason for her disappearance, but he doesn't let it show so that she doesn't use it to her advantage.
Anna is staring at the ceiling and notices it is Chris Tucker, but what is he doing here? She sees that he is trying hard to mask the worry on his face, but she is still lost, wondering why exactly he is in her hospital ward.
It's not until Doctor Paige says, "The man that hit you has come to see you," then everything clicks. She wants to shout and create a scene, but she realizes that she was the one who also ran into the road carelessly. So she forces a smile and asks jokingly, "Do you think you can take me out of the world that easy?" He doesn't laugh as he still feels awkward, but she doesn't blame him.
However, he tells the doctor that he wants to have a conversation with her. After she leaves, he apologizes for almost killing her. He explains that he has so much on his mind that is causing him to worry, and he couldn't hit the brakes fast enough.
She expresses her understanding as she too had a lot on her mind that was driving her nuts. She heard the blaring horn too late. She is happy to be alive and expresses that.
Chris is relieved when she doesn't yell at him. He is also concerned about what happened at the restaurant. He decides to ask her what happened and why her boss seemed so pleased to be rid of her, but first, he needs to take her home.
He tells her to meet him at the reception, and in a few minutes, she joins him. They are now headed to his personal villa, and he can't help but wonder what could have happened to her at work. When they pass through villa security, he shows her a room where she can rest for the night. He goes ahead to ask her if she wants anything, to which she declines.
Immediately after she has settled in, he expresses his observations on his boss's attitude and asks her if it could be related to her accident. Her face drops as she starts to speak.
Since this is all over and she gets a second chance, she begins to share her story. "I met Randy a long time ago. I had started working for him because my father got diagnosed with cancer. He was the sweetest to me and he told me I was his mate. I accepted because I had a huge crush on him, and that was it. Well, until he became this angry monster and started to abuse me.
I thought it would end there, but he started selling me to his friends. He told me that he loved me and it was just something we needed to do to gather money for my father's treatment. I accepted, but then even his friends continued to abuse me in the name of sex
Everything fell apart when he hit me because I refused to go see a friend of his. I was tired from my encounter with another friend of his the previous night. I took to my heels as soon as I got the chance, but I was too distracted to hear the horn."
Chris sympathizes with her and shares that he is happy she is alive. However, he takes this to his advantage and offer her an ultimatum. "Your father is sick and you need the money, and my parents want me to find a wife. How about we sign a contract and for two years, you will be my wife, and I will take care of all your needs? All you need to do is say yes."
