Chapter8

The next afternoon our ship arrived in the town of Gannetsport.

As I saw the silhouette of the city approaching, I was suddenly filled with happiness and hope.

I can finally live in safety, neither my foster father nor bandits will attack me, like at sea.

And Aaron will be there waiting for me, and we can finally have that certain date.

He immediately swept me off my feet with his swagger and confidence.

And he took care of me from the beginning. I can't just leave him..

Soon we docked. I gathered my little stuff and waved goodbye to the boys.

I hugged James, Shawn, and finally Dwayn.

Jessica: Thanks for everything guys! Take care of yourselves.

Jessica: I will never forget you.

By then, tears were already in my eyes.

I remembered the many adventures and beautiful moments we had experienced together.

Although I was taken back to Gannetsport, but they kidn*pped my heart forever.

Dwayn: Wait, Jessica. It would be better if one of us accompany you home.

Dwayn: You know, just to make sure everything is okay back home.

I was glad to be with one of them for a little while longer.

But who should I choose?

I thought for a bit, then I answered:

A. Let the captain accompany me

B. Shawn accompany me

C. James accompany me

A:Dwayn:

Jessica: My Captain, would you mind accompanying me?

Dwayn: With the greatest pleasure.

He put his arm around me and we walked down the ramp.

It was so good to see the city.

A few weeks ago, I never thought I'd be walking here in the arms of a pirate captain.

Jessica: Let's go to the ticket office first, maybe Aaron will be there.

At the ticket office, we only found my colleague, who was very happy to see me again.

Maria: Jessica! I can't believe you're back. We already feared the worst. What happened?

Jessica: It's a long story now, I'll tell you later.

Jessica: Didn't you see Aaron?

Maria: He left this morning with a shipment, but he should be here soon.

Jessica: Then I'll go home until then, tell him I'm fine and that I've been looking for him.

Maria: Of course, he was also very worried about you.

Then we started home.

When we saw my house, Dwayn asked:

Dwayn: How does it feel to be at home?

Jessica: It's weird. It's like I haven't been here in years.

Dwayn laughed, then suddenly turned serious.

Dwayn: Can you forgive us for... well, you know we kidn*pped you?

Jessica: To forgive? The weeks I spent with you were the most beautiful weeks of my life.

Dwayn pulled me close and stroked my cheek.

Dwayn: Then don't forget me.

Then slowly, very slowly, his mouth came closer to my mouth and kissed me tenderly, while he caressed my neck with his hand.

I was about to take a breath to say that I will never forget him, when suddenly:

Aaron: Jessica, who is this? Where have you been?

Jessica: This is Captain Lockheart.

Aaron's eyes widened.

Aaron: A captain? He looks like a pirate!

He gave the captain a disdainful look, which Dawyn immediately returned with a terrifying grimace.

Jessica: Let's go inside and I'll tell you everything.

Dwayn shouted to Aaron before he left.

Dwayn: I suggest you take care of her!

B: Shawn:

B: Jessica: Shawn, can you walk me home?

Shawn: Of course, my little pirate.

Then he took me in his arms and took me down the ramp.

Jessica: Is this how you're going to take me off the ship every single time?

Shawn: Why, will I have another chance?

He whispered in my ear.

Jessica: First we go to the ticket office, maybe Aaron will be there.

Shawn: We will be in port for two more days to replenish our supplies.

Then he gave me a gentle kiss on my forehead and turned to leave.

But even then I didn't let go of his hand.

I suddenly pulled him back and he kissed me passionately on my lips.

My whole body was shaking.

I was overwhelmed with heat, desire and sadness.

When suddenly...

Aaron: Jessica, who is this? What happened to you, where did you go?

Jessica: Um….This is Shawn, about to leave. And we just...we said goodbye.

Aaron: Shawn who?

Shawn extended his hand to Aaron.

Shawn: Shawn Blackshade.

Aaron: Aaron Crowly.

Aaron shook hands with him suspiciously, then continued:

Aaron: Jessica's boyfriend.

Shawn looked down, grimaced, then replied:

Shawn: You're a lucky man.

Then he turned to me and caressed my arm.

Shawn: Take care my little pirate.

Jessica: Let's go inside Aaron and I'll tell you everything.

C: James:

C: Jessica: James, would you accompany me?

James: It makes me happy that you chose me.

Then he took my hand and we walked off the ship.

James: It feels like I’m walking off the ship with my girlfriend after a vacation.

While he kindly caressed my hand.

Just the thought of me being his girlfriend filled me with warmth.

I quickly changed the subject.

Jessica: Let's go to the ticket office first, maybe Aaron will be there.

At the ticket office, we only found my colleague, who was very happy to see me again.

Maria: Jessica! I can't believe you're back. We already feared the worst. What happened?

Jessica: It's a long story now, I'll tell you later.

Didn't you see Aaron?

We stopped in front of the door.

Jessica: I am grateful to fate that I met you. Such a wonderful friend.

James took both of my hands and kissed them.

James: Jessica, this is more than friendship to me.

James: I wish things had turned out differently and we could continue ..this.

James: Maybe we'll meet again one day.

James: It is certain that there will be no room for anyone else in my heart, that day will come at any time.

Then he put his arms around my waist and I was overwhelmed by the heat as he pulled me to him.

He closed his eyes and surrendered to the feeling of our kiss.

When suddenly:

Aaron: Jessica, who is this? Where have you been?

Jessica: This is James, a captain in the Royal Navy.

Aaron: The one who killed the king?

Jessica: He didn't kill the king, but I'll tell you everything when we finally get inside.

I took one last look at James, tried to smile, but the moment was too painful that I might never see him again.

We went into the house, Aaron made me a delicious tea and we sat on the couch.

Without asking, he waited for me to tell him everything. After some thought, I started.

Jessica: I was kidn*pped by my foster father.

Horror and worry appeared on Aaron’s face.

I tried to calm him down quickly.

Jessica: But three pirates saved me and brought me home.

He looked at me more and more suspiciously.

Aaron: Did the pirates save you?

Jessica: Yes, they are very nice people. We actually became friends.

Aaron: And he was one of them?

Poking his head towards the door, where no one had been standing for a long time.

I nodded silently.

Aaron: Those pirates didn't do anything wrong to you, did they?

Jessica: No way! They were absolute gentlemen the whole time.

(When I said the word gentleman, Dwayn came to my mind suddenly...And they couldn't have done anything that I didn't want to do)

Aaron: What if your foster father finds you again? You are not safe here!

I shook my head.

Jessica: He can't find me. I don't have to fear him anymore.

(Thanks Shawn, I'll never forget what you did for me)

Jessica: He died in the ….fight.

Aaron pulled me closer to him, relieved.

Aaron: Oh Jessica, I couldn't even imagine what happened to you, where I should look for you.

Aaron: I already thought that it wasn't good for you here...with me.

Jessica: Come on, don't be silly.

I patted his head reassuringly.

Jessica: I'm here, everything will be fine.

Aaron: You owe me a date, you know that?

I laughed at myself.

Jessica: Yes, I know.

Aaron: I have to take a shipment from the port tomorrow, would you like to accompany me?

Jessica: I'm happily go with you Aaron!

Aaron: Great, then I'll see you at the port tomorrow.

I was so tired that I went up to my room and collapsed on the bed.

The image of the three pirates flashed in front of me before I fell asleep.

The next morning, Aaron was waiting at the dock with a smile.

Aaron: You're late, we've already loaded.

He shouted jokingly.

Jessica: I'm sorry, I was very tired.

Aaron put his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him.

Aaron: I understand. You've been through a lot. But you can rest now.

Aaron: Everything will be fine now, I'll take care of you.

Then he took my hand and we walked onto the ship.

As the ship departed, I stepped to the railing and looked for the Stigmata Diaboli with my eyes to see if I could see one of them on board, but they were not there.

I went to Aaron with sadness in my heart and decided to try to focus on him, because he deserves it.

Aaron: You must not have had breakfast yet. I got ready a bit.

He led me to the table laid on the deck.

Fresh pastries, coffee, tea and fresh strawberries were waiting for me.

Jessica: I haven't seen such royal food in a long time.

Aaron: Then go to the table, my queen.

He smiled, put his hand on my waist and pulled out the chair for me.

The wind caressed our faces pleasantly and the view from the harbor was wonderful.

I took a cake and then sipped my coffee, which filled me with a pleasant warmth.

He hesitated a little, then asked:

Aaron: I wish you could tell me more about it all, but I don't want to spoil the moment.

Jessica: I appreciate it. It's painful for me to talk about it. But please don't hate so much the pirates who saved me.

Aaron: I will always be grateful to them for that. ... As long as they know where they belong.

Jessica: Look, the sun is coming up!

We walked to the bow of the ship and he stood behind me and put his arm around me, so we admired the sunrise.

Aaron: You can't even imagine how much I missed you.

Jessica: Finally I'm here and I hope you'll always be with me.

I answered him as I turned around.

Aaron: Always.

He whispered in my ear as he put one hand on my face and gently pulled it to his face.

He placed a kiss on my mouth, and after his mischievous, boyish smile, our mouths met again in a gentle kiss.

When we moved away from each other, he pulled my head to his chest and put his arm around me.

So we admired the scenery until we arrived at the port, where people unloaded and we headed back to Gannetsport.

After Aaron got home, I spent the night alone again.
