Chapter 14

Jessica: Aaron! I thought I saw a ghost. Aaron: A fork? seriously? He smiled when he saw me. Aaron: Shawn is here too. Shawn stepped in behind him. I ran to them and jumped into their arms. My tears were pouring down. Jessica: You? How? Aren't you dead? Shawn: We'll tell you everything, but we have to go now. In silence. Shawn put his finger on his mouth. Shawn went ahead and Aaron took my hand and we followed him. Shawn stopped suddenly. Shawn: Watch out, there's someone here. We hid in the hallway until Shawn arranged that man on board. Then we sailed away in silence in the dark night with their boat standing next to the ship. Aaron turned to me. Aaron: Are you okay? Are you not injured? Didn't that animal hurt you? Jessica: No. But what if they come after us? Shawn: They're not coming after us. Treasure is more important to them. Do they have the map? I nodded. Jessica: He drew it, I couldn't do anything else. I said sadly as I stared at the bottom of the boat. Shawn: Great! Jessica: How do you mean great? Why? Aaron: Dwayn redrew the map while you were sleeping. Jessica: What? On my chest? Shawn: It's leading them in the wrong direction. Jessica: Where? Shawn: Dwayn knows the ocean well. At this time of year, the warm current creates eddies as the air cools. Anyone who sails there recently will definitely not survive. Jessica: So Dwayn planned everything? And he didn't tell me? He came into my room and drew on my chest while I was sleeping? I asked the questions one after the other angrily. Aaron: Dwayn knew they were coming back, they just came sooner than he expected. Aaron: By the time he finished the job, the ship was already sprinkled with gunpowder. Aaron: He wanted to tell you, but we didn't have time, we could only run away. We also found out about his plan then. Jessica: And are the others okay? Where are they? Shawn: Everyone's fine. The captain went to Freddy's treasure and watches over James. I sighed heavily. Jessica: This is too much for me at once. Aaron: Come on, get some rest. I rested my head on Aaron's shoulder while Shawn rowed. Jessica: I missed you guys so much. You can't even imagine what it felt like to think you were dead. Jessica: I saw the ship fly into the air. Aaron made an angry face. Aaron: My ship! Oh, if only I knew what Dwayn was up to sooner! He clenched his fists. Aaron: But the main thing is that you're already here with us and you didn't get hurt. He stroked my head. Aaron: I was so worried about you! He gently turned my head up to look into my eyes. Aaron: I was afraid that I would never see this bright pair of eyes again. He ran his hand over my face. His touch made me feel hot. I took his hand and pressed it to my face. Jessica: When I thought I lost you, I wanted to die. Tears welled up in my eyes Aaron: You can't say something stupid like that. He answered worriedly, then hugged me tightly. Aaron: You're Freddy Kidd's daughter, you have to fight to the end, even if something happens to us. Jessica: Nothing can happen to you, Aaron. I looked at him and wanted to kiss him, but Shawn was right next to us I could already feel Aaron's breath on my mouth. Aaron: Nothing will happen to me, I promise. I'll always be with you. He kissed my forehead. Then he put my head on his chest again and I slowly fell asleep as he gently caressed my hair. Later, Aaron took over the rowing. Jessica: Let's hurry as fast as we can, we have to stop Dwayn! Jessica: The treasure is cursed, only I can lift it from its place, otherwise who knows what curse it will bring on his head. Aaron: We're in a hurry as we can. Although we hurried as much as we could, it still took us two days to reach the island where Dwayn and James had gone. Fortunately, the boys had some food and water, so the trip went a little more calmly. I pulled my shirt aside a little and glanced at the drawing. It was really different, but even I hadn't noticed it until now. Although I was very angry with Dwayn, I admired a little how smart and skilled my pirate captain was. When we docked, Shawn led the way and we ran after him. The treasure was not hidden on the beach, but in the thick of the forest. When we saw Dwayn kneeling under a tall tree with his back to us, we started to run even more. Jessica: Dwayn, stop! Don't lift the treasure! * But when he turned around, I saw that the wooden box was already on his lap. James: Jessica! James’s eyes lit up when he saw me. But I immediately ran to Dwayn and grabbed the wooden box from his hand, which was so heavy that I dropped it on the ground, causing it to fall to pieces. Jessica: Dwayn, this treasure is cursed! Why didn't you wait for me? Dwayn: You think I don't know more about my beloved Freddy than that puffed-up Ravenheart does? The captain smiled at me. Dwayn: I know it's cursed, and I know the curse doesn't fall on the one you love. (How can he be so sure it's him? He can't be sure! I'm not sure either!) ( Did he seriously think that if he’s not the one I really love, he'd rather put a curse on his head?) I walked up to him firmly and as he smiled at me, I shivered. I was definitely impressed by his boldness, his edginess, that he is a real bad boy. And I was so happy to see him that I immediately forgave him for everything he did to me. I walked up to him firmly and kissed him. He was so surprised, but then he put one arm around me and pulled me close. I didn't think I would ever feel the warmth of his body again, the taste of his kiss on my mouth, the safe grip of his strong arm on my waist. He whispered my name as he kissed me again. Dwayn: Jessica And he added even more quietly Dwayn: My love Tears came to my eyes from happiness and I felt that I never want to let him go again. But I had to realize that the others were watching us. Then Dwayn pulled his head away from me and turned to the others: Dwayn: Come on guys, I'm just glad to see her again! He said with a laugh, then turned his attention to the treasure. The box was full of gold and gems. Coins, necklaces, tiaras, goblets were all there. But my attention caought by a letter. The paper turned yellow, the ink faded, but it still looked legible. I held it close to my chest and walked with it towards the shore. I sat down in the sand, wrapped my arms around my legs, and began to read, trembling and with tears in my eyes. My beloved daughter! I knew that one day you would find out the truth and you’ll be be brave and clever enough to find this letter. I hope you are not alone like your mother was when she found her first treasure and I hope you are not in bad company. Please forgive me for putting you in an institution, but I had no other choice. After your mother was killed, you would have been the next and I couldn't allow that. I wish I knew how you live now, I wish I could have seen you grow up, but that is not given to a pirate. I want you to have a happy family and not have to live your life in fear. But if you choose our way, I'll leave you a map. Here on the island I hid my ship, the famous Talisman. It's already yours. If I wasn't given to take care of you in my life, maybe I can take care of you after I die. Your beloved daddy Sobbing, I read the letter and held it close to my heart. When would my father be happy? If I were to follow in his footsteps? Or should I settle in the city and have a family? As I was deep in my thoughts, Shawn stepped next to me Shawn: Can I sit next to you? I nodded silently. We haven't even had a chance to talk together since I was brought off the ship. Shawn: Are you okay? I shook my head Jessica: No Then he sat down next to me and put his arm around me. I could finally feel his strong arms again and his scent, which always made me feel so safe around him. Shawn: It's gonna be okay now. You know I was really worried about you. Shawn: I really got into a fight with Dwayn for doing this to you and putting you through all of this. Shawn: Do you wanna talk about your dad? I think he would be very proud of you! Jessica: Thank you shawn. But I don’t wanna talk about anything. I just wanna forget about everything right now. Shawn: All right! I turned to face him and looked into his eyes with a grateful smile. I hugged him with both arms while looking at his beautiful eyes. Then without saying a word, I leaned over to him and gently kissed his lower lip. He moved away a little and looked at me as if he were holding the most precious treasure in his hands, which is so fragile that it is about to crumble. Then he leaned in for another kiss, which was so gentle that my mouth started to tingle. He played with my tongue for a long time, gently sucking my lower lip while caressing my neck with his hand until With a decisive movement he turned me over, laid me down in the sand and lay on me. He didn't stop kissing me for a minute, but already with a greedy passion like someone who can't get enough of me. As he kissed my neck, I thought I would faint from the pleasure. My body trembled as he caressed me wherever he could. There were so many things I wanted to tell him, but I couldn't put my feelings into words. And I knew he knew. He must feel how much he mean to me. The others had lit a campfire on the beach and were deliberating when I sat down with them. Aaron: So what do we do now? Dwayn: We have to get back to town to get a ship. Thank heaven we already have enough money if Jessica thinks to share with us. Jessica: Of course we share. But I have a better idea for the ship. I handed Dwayn my father's letter. Dwayn jumped up from his seat. Dwayn: Devil and hell! The Talisman! It's here on the island! I don't think I've ever seen him so enthusiastic. Dwayn: Let's go right now! I spoke decisively: Jessica: We're not leaving right away. Everyone is tired, we need to rest. Jessica: We'll find it tomorrow. I hope it is in such condition that we can sail with it. James: Jessica is right. That would be too much for one day. Dwayn sat back in his seat like a petulant toddler. Dwayn: But tomorrow we have first thing to do!- he said sullenly. Aaron: And if we have a ship, we already have the treasure, how do we proceed? Dwayn: We already found Ratty's treasure. I think ’What’ also deserves to find his treasure. Dwayn: If everyone can fit in one last adventure. What: ’What’ deserves it! The parrot squawked cheerfully, and we all laughed. James: I think I'm going to lie down, this tour was a bit long for me. It occurred to me that I hadn't even had a chance to talk to James since I saw him again. Jessica: I'm pretty tired too, and I feel like we'll be leaving early tomorrow. Jessica: Good night boys. James and I started looking for a place to lie down a little further from the fire. We settled in a suitable place and James looked at me so strangely that I couldn't decide what he was thinking. James: It's going to be cool at night Jessica: Yes. I wish I have a blanket or something. James: Good night Jessica! (What? Just not that sleepy? Or is he mad at me for something? ) (So much has happened since I returned, I haven't dealt with him enough. Maybe that's the problem.) Jessica: Is something wrong? James: Well, what would it hurt? Jessica: I know I haven't spent enough time with you since I came back, I'm sorry. When he turned and looked into my eyes. James: And do you have enough time now, Freddy's daughter? Jessica: Sure. Please tell me what happened to you while we were apart. James: Lots of things. James: The day you were kidn*pped, I was lying in my bed thinking about you. James: Then the captain came to bail me out of the ship and rowed to the island while I just lay there thinking of you. I laughed at that, but James continued: James: When we arrived on the island, everyone was excited about the treasure. James: But even then I only thought about you and that you came back, that I didn't lose you, and that maybe you'll stay with me for good. Jessica: Oh James! You are so cute. James: I just stood there and watched you worry about the captain when he found the treasure. James: How you were overcome with emotion when you found the letter and I was waiting for my turn. Jessica: God James, I'm sorry, I was so selfish, I just … I tried to explain, but he put his finger on my mouth. James: Shh! James: I don't want to be cute, I'm not a guinea pig. And I don't want you to be sorry. Jessica: So what do you want? James' lips almost touched mine and my whole body trembled when he suddenly whispered in my ear: James: I want you! I shivered as my ears felt his hot breath and as my brain processed what he said. I closed my eyes and pulled his head close to me, and he… James: Good night Jessica. He pressed a kiss on my forehead, then turned his back to me. Jessica: Good night James. I was so dissapointed. I couldn't fall asleep. (Is he punishing me now? Or what? He says he wants me, then he turns his back on me?) After a while I spoke. Jessica: James! I'm so cold! No answer Jessica: Wouldn't you mind hugging me? I couldn't see his face, but I know he smiled. Then he turned around, and hugged me. Jessica: It's much better. I pulled him closer to me He stroked my shoulder for a while, and so we fell asleep.
