We got some hot air from the flame in the centre, slowly letting the light paper lantern to float up into the air. Quietly we watched our lantern lift to the air, joining the rest of the other lanterns. “What did you wish for?” Suddenly, he asked.
I glanced over at him and lightly slap his arm, “do you know it’s bad luck to tell people your wish.” I said, playfully sounding shock. But I chuckled, turning my gaze back to the sparkling lanterns.
He chuckled, “you must be right.”
But I wish everything the best for you, Kai… I thought to myself, glancing back at him as he stared up at the night sky in glee. I wish only the best for you…
