“Is she all right?” Cahira asked as Alexander gently swept Erin into his arms.
As they had stood up from the table, she had swayed and stumbled. Immediately, Alexander scooped her up and cradled her close. Erin’s head rested on his shoulder, and he felt her breath at his neck. The sensation went all the way to his groin. Alexander sucked in a breath, trying to will away dangerous thoughts.
“You okay?” Nathan asked. “Want me to take her?”
“No!” Alexander growled, his wolf pushing forward.
“Okay,” Nathan held up both hands in surrender. “It just seemed like you needed a moment.”
Alexander breathed deep, saying, “I’m fine. I think she had too much to drink.”
