Chapter 4 (Cupcake or me?)

2341 Words
The next day, I stayed at home all day. I was supposed to have another lesson today but I preferred to stay at home because my first day didn't go well, for its obvious reason. Today, I decided to relax in our pool. We have a different pool here, an architectural pool and a spool that I requested from my brother. I often hang out there with Adel. Earlier, the French rose pink Kaia maillot swimsuit I ordered online arrived, and it's so beautiful! It matches my expectations. I'm just relaxing on this sun lounger, sipping my orange juice. My naturally white skin sparkled in the sunlight, causing my skin to blush slightly. Sometimes I think having a golden-tanned skin is hot. I took another sip of my juice before placing it on the table. "Why would I let a random guy cross my mind? Psh!" I said as I suddenly remembered Jeal. That Jeal guy... is something else! I hate him! Opposites attract, huh? What does that mean? That I'm not beautiful inside and out like that flower? The heck? And he makes me look like the bad one? Why doesn't he just admit that he's arrogant? I'm sure all he can do in his life is go to bars, play around, and spank a lot of asses. Like a typical pampered rich businessman's son! This is why I hate guys so much! They brag, thinking they own the world, believing that the world revolves around them just because they're guys. Huh! I took out my little mirror to check my appearance. My white skin suits me, I have wavy long black hair, almond-shaped eyes, a button nose, and heart-shaped lips. My body is soft, slim, and not athletic. I smiled when I saw how beautiful I am. "See? Maybe he's trying to act cool and deep because he can't handle your beauty." I chuckled after. They said my face looks like a girl version of my brother Marshall, but it seems the other way around because his eyelashes are longer than mine! I've been jealous of that for a long time! Marshall looks so natural, I feel like I need eyelash extensions. "Come over!" I pleaded with Adel while we were talking on a video call. I saw her typing on her laptop at that time. "A kiss first. Then, kiss your brother so I can pass my kiss to him." "Adel, seriously, come over, pretty!" "But, girl, I have an assignment!" "How long will that take?" "I'll be done in a little while. Why do you need me? What do you want? If you're bored, just be bored tomorrow so you won't bother me." I pouted. "I’ll wait for you, okay?" "Yes, wait a bit, short-tempered sissy," She laughed a little. "Just imagine you're waiting for your future husband to come." I rolled my eyes and removed my sunglasses. "Then I'd rather leave." "And why's that? You're so bitter, as if you've been in love, but you're not." "Having a relationship is a waste of time. I'm still young to think about that. I still have a huge dream, and I don't want any distractions." I said, emphasizing almost every word. "But they said love and s*x are essential in life. Not a distraction," Adel said. She was still focused on her laptop. Sometimes, this girl really has something to say. But do I need love in my life? "It works for them, but not for me. Tsk! Come on! Hurry up! Stop with this useless topic!" I bit my lower lip. "And? Guess what I have on the table?" I saw her face light up. "Am I feeling the soul of pepperoni pizza there?" "Not a soul..." I grabbed a slice of pepperoni pizza from the table and took a bite, showing her. "Because you can't bite a soul." I teased her with my antics. I pursed my lips. "Girl! My mouth is watering. Tell me you have tequila beside you, and I'll come there right away." Without a second thought, I grabbed and showed her a bottle of tequila. "Are you talking about this?" After saying that, Adel ended the call. I was laughing out loud because I knew very well that our favorite pizza, along with tequila, is her all-time favorite. "So, how's your first day of golf lessons? Please tell me it wasn't as terrible as yesterday." Adel, now munching on pizza beside me, asked. "No, Mr. Collins is nice, but!" I stood up from the sun lounger. "This is the worst! I met the youngest grandson of Casa de Amor owners!" Adel also stood up. "Is he handsome?" She asked mischievously. "Is he?" "Adel, it's not the right time to ask me about his appearance." I thought for a moment. "He's nice, but—" "But his appearance is 2/10?" "I didn't say that!" "So, that means he's handsome?" My eyes formed a line. "I told you it's the right time to ask that!" "You're so stubborn. Just say whether he's handsome or not. Why don't you want to admit it?" I shrugged and leaned back on the sun lounger. "His appearance is not... the problem." A mysterious smile slowly formed on Adel's lips. "I guess he's a 10! Hmm... So anyway, if his appearance is not the problem, then what's the problem?" "He's nice, actually, but I have a feeling that he's not really nice, so I gave his attitude a test, and he passed it..." "So? What's the problem then? He's handsome, isn't he?" "He passed it terribly, and I ended up looking like the bad one! His words triggered something in me!" "Huh?" "I hate people who can make my mouth shut!" "Wait..." Adel raised one hand and squinted at me. "Did he just tell you to shut up?! The heck of him?! Even if he's a 10, I'd respond to anyone telling you to shut up—" "No! What I'm saying is..." My voice gradually weakened as I felt irritation. "He can make my mouth shut using his penetrating words, and... I hate that." Adel grabbed another slice of pizza; she had already finished three. "So, you mean... You can't beat him in a debate? If you have an argument, you'll lose?" I pondered. "Of course not! I won't let him." She pursed her lips. "Are you saying you have too much pride and you're annoyed because he can silence you?" "Ugh, you know what? I feel like he's the kind of person who would do anything to shorten an argument." "Don't you like that? Then create another argument." "I'm not really into arguments, but I want to express my side, you know." "Why didn't you express it then?" I sighed and grabbed another slice of pizza. "Whatever." "You know what? Instead of thinking about him, think about something else; otherwise, you might not sleep tonight." I furrowed my brow. "So, are you excited about your new life, school, and new surroundings?" she asked. "I don't think so because I know it's so stressful and full of responsibilities." I flicked my fingers in the air. "But! You know me, I love responsibilities..." There was a bit of excitement in my voice. "Really? Then do my assignments." She said calmly. "That's a responsibility." I rolled my eyes. "Responsibility that should make a little bit of sense." "Excuse me? It makes a lot of sense." "But I want something that will benefit me and my future. Not you." "Sis, it will benefit you." "How?" "I will be a good friend." She winked. My car slowed to a stop in front of the campus where I would begin my first year of college. I took a moment to look around and familiarize myself with every part of the school. The uniform is beautiful, and I love it, paired with my 4-inch black shoes that make me taller, and my Gucci tote bag. As I surveyed the surroundings, I noticed various reactions—girls raising their brows, genuine smiles, and shy guys hiding their faces and blushing. My attention shifted to a group of guys passing by in front of me. From the way they talked and their aura, I bet they're playboys or bad boys. They caught my attention, and I couldn't help but feel disgusted by them. "Oh my god. I wonder if there are any single girls here who would date guys like that? Because of me? No way." Before I could shift my gaze away, one of those playboys caught me looking at them. I saw him flash a smirk. Damn it, I knew why he smirked. Ugh. I wasn't wrong with my thoughts, especially when the group approached me. "Hey girl, got your sexy eyes. Why are you looking, huh? Interested?" The leader said with a disgusting grin, even licking his lower lip! "I'm not." I said calmly and was about to turn away when he blocked my way. "Indenial? Come on, you don't have to lie, babe. I know when a girl likes me, and I know you like me because of your face. You're looking at my good set of muscles like you want to get spanked by this hahaha." He flexed his muscles. Eww! Annoyed, I faced him with irritation. "How about let me spank your liver out? Stupid!" I retorted, but he seemed to enjoy what I said even more. "Uuuu, brutal girl, yes baby, I like it rough." They all laughed. "Argh! Can you please stop?!" I said in frustration. "Oh, babe, you want me to stop? Beg then." The narrow-minded man began to chuckle evilly. I groaned. "Damn it! Guys are so stupid!" I shouted in sheer frustration. After saying that, I pushed him with all my might and ran away from them. "Those stupid guys are giving me f*****g nightmares." I muttered to myself, frustrated, as I continued to search for my classroom. "s**t!" I muttered in annoyance. "So irritating." By the time I entered my classroom, I didn't feel awkward because almost everyone was smiling at me. "Hello." I waved to those who noticed my presence. They greeted me back. "Hello, you're Margot, right?" A girl asked. She had white skin like mine and curly golden-brown hair with wispy bangs. "Yes, I am. You know me?" I smiled at her while arranging my bag on the chair. "You must be obvious to us! How could we not recognize you? You are Margarita, right? Marshall's sister?" "Oh..." I put my palm on my forehead. Of course, since we are wealthy, our family is kind of popular. "Yes, I know your brother is the CEO of Auto Digital Corp. and the founder of Fortune Team, and Ihh!" She said excitedly. "I have a crush on him!" "I'm so glad you recognize me." I smiled at them. "So, I don't need to introduce myself." She sat beside me. "I'm Elena, can we be friends now?" I observed her. "Of course, how can I refuse an opportunity for good friendship? But please answer this first..." "Huh?" She asked, confused. "You want to be friends with me... Not because of my money, right?" Her smile slowly faded. "O-Of course." She nodded repeatedly. "Do I look like I'm after your money? You gave off a bad first impression, huh? Hehe..." She forced a smile, clearly offended. I could sense that. "Oh... Sorry." I just smiled as a response, but after a moment, another girl approached me. "Hi! Since you're someone I just met, here's a cupcake for you!" She handed me a cupcake. I chuckled while looking at her. "A bit eager to make friends, huh?" She beamed at me. "Oh my god! There he is! Ack!" Then she ran out. That's weird. "She's trying too hard for attention," Elena commented. "I even stopped doing that, haha." I turned to her. "Who's that girl? And... Attention for what?" "For Jeal." I raised an eyebrow. "Oh, Jeal. Hahaha, you know what? I hate that name because..." "Yes, Jeal mentioned that he likes a girl who's good at cooking, so now, girls are going crazy trying to get his attention by showing off their cooking skills." She crossed her arms. "I don't know, Jeal is nice, but he's not interested in anyone." I halted. Jeal? The hell, don't tell me... My eyes widened. "Jeal? As in Jeal?" I asked her with a hint of disbelief. "The young Ramirez guy?" She nodded. "Yes, Jeal. Do you know him too? Are you close?" I sighed. "You've got to be joking right now. Don't f*****g tell me, he's... he's also studying here? No way!" She smirked. "Why do you seem scared of him?" "I'm not, but—" Our conversation was interrupted when the girl who gave me the cupcake earlier approached us. To confirm, I rushed out to see who she gave it to. "No... fucking... way," I whispered to myself in disbelief. My entire body went numb as I turned to face him. His sweet smile appeared, not arrogant or playful, but a soft appreciative smile while looking at the girl. "Thank you," Jeal responded, turning the cupcake in his palm to admire it. His voice was casual and professional, not flirty toward the girl. "Come om" The girl urged, holding Jeal's hand with the cupcake, bringing it closer to his mouth. "Oh, sure." Jeal was about to take a bite, but he stopped, turning his gaze towards where I was sitting. Confused, I furrowed my brows, and my eyes widened when I noticed his eyes examining me from head to toe. After a few seconds, he gave me an uncertain delicate smile. I was puzzled. Why was he smiling at me like that? "Ow hahaha... Do you really want me to choose?" He asked, still smiling. I frowned. "Choose what?" His gaze dropped to the cupcake in my hand, so I looked down as well, nearly dropping the cupcake in surprise when I saw what was written on it. 'Jeal, pili ka, cupcake, or me?' Holy s**t.
