"Hello?" I answered the anonymous caller ID.
"Oh, so you weren't picking up on purpose when I called you?" A familiar voice interrogated.
I sighed in annoyance, "yes, Richard?"
"Lyrika, where are you?" Richard asked in frustration.
"Somewhere where you and Mary are not going to be", I sassed.
"Lyrika, please...you need to come back. Child protective services is running an investigation on us. If they find out Mary kicked you out, they're going to send you back to the system to another foster parent. I don't want that to happen to you." Richard informed.
